Position Title:  Sr. ANALYST, IT – Maestro Care Research


Job Description

 

This person will act in a senior analyst role for the Research Maestro Care Analyst Team.  This individual will be an Orders or Ambulatory and preferably Beacon-certified resource with Epic design and build experience and will be familiar with various Epic Inpatient and Ambulatory modules.    The person will complete Orders/Ambulatory/Research build activities as directed and provide additional expertise of Epic Orders/Ambulatory/Research Implementation to the Research Analyst Associate Director and Technical Lead in the areas of design, build, and testing.  

 

Primary Job Responsibilities

 

  • Complete research Epic build activities as directed and complete Epic Orders/Ambulatory/Research design and build activities as directed (e.g., Orders Transmittal, LRR, EAP, CER, PRL, Reporting).
  • Follow projects from discovery to completion (Discovery, Feasibility, Planning, Execution, Testing, Implementation, Review)
  • Collaborate with the applicable DHTS Maestro Care Teams and related governance groups to identify and determine resolution path for outstanding issues and required decisions.
  • Collaborate with other Epic institutions to share best practices and bring novel ideas back to the Research Analyst team.
  • Help the Research Analyst Associate Director identify scope changes and raise issues or risks when issues are discovered.
  • Help the Research Analyst Associate Director and Technical Lead with on-going knowledge transfer and training of Research Analysts.
  • Assist the MC Research Analyst team in SU/RA and upgrade testing.
  • Review release notes related to current and new functionality. Report, document and escalate issues with Epic in Sherlock.
  • Attend change control to represent and stay informed of current changes.
  • Work with the security team to review and implement functionality and issues.
  • Resolve incidents submitted by Epic end users in the Duke Research Community.
  • Perform data courier duties and stay abreast of all changes to data courier workflows.

BPA (LGL)

Profiles (LPR)

Reports (LPR, LPG)

Navigators (LVN, VCN)

Smart Tools (ETX, HHS, ELT, HH1)

Preference Lists (LPF)

Smart Sets (OSQ, PRL)

 

Education/Training requirements:

Work requires a Bachelor’s in Computer Science or equivalent technical training, or non-technical Bachelor's and 4 years of relevant work experience.

Experience:

  • 4 years data management, research, or medical experience.
  • Previous experience in clinical nursing or research required.
  • Previous experience using Epic software required.
  • At least 1 Epic certification required.
