Small Group and Key Segment Leader (Staff VP)

Responsible for overall business segment growth and strategy for Small Group and Key business , including product operations and new product opportunities and enhancements across all geographies. Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Assesses market opportunities and establishes a specific growth strategy aligned to business unit long range growth plans.
  • Cultivates business relationships with current and potential customers and key strategic partners to ensure that the business is positioned to pursue growth, as well as deliver solutions to current and potential distribution partners.
  • Develops product strategy, business strategy and program development, including improving current financial and quality performance.
  • Conducts analysis of product performance across existing markets, developing a full portfolio of products, identifying and sharing best practices in operations, and establishing optimal operating models and participation criteria across the product matrix within local markets and enterprise support functions to optimize membership and operating gain.
  • Leads all aspects of market activities that impact assigned product(s) to protect membership and defend margins. In conjunction with cross functional business partners, identifies and evaluates product specific opportunities and then develop, execute, and achieve strategic organic growth plans for respective product.
  • Serves as the primary customer interface on all product related initiatives. Hires, trains, coaches, counsels, and evaluates performance of direct reports.

Location:  May be located in any of the Anthem Blue offices in ME, NH, CT, NY, CO, NV, GA, IN, OH, KY, MO, VA WI, or CA

Qualifications

Requires a BA/BS degree; 10 years of experience in the healthcare sector to include leadership within a large organization; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. MBA preferred.  Knowledge and understanding of the small group commercial market and its distribution mechanisms and how to sustain the segment's growth mechanisms.  Must be distribution and strategy focused along with a leadership track record and strong communication skills.

Annual Salary Range*: $165,200.04 - $206,499.96

Actual compensation may vary from posting based on geographic location, work experience, education and/or skill level.
