Occupational Therapist
Schedule: PRN / Per Diem
Location: Medical City McKinney Hosptial
  
Position Summary:
Proficient, safe and effective in speech therapy treatment for acute care, outpatient and rehab populations. Possess the knowledge for treatment of neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Understand and able to adjust treatment plans according to the motor development stages and the patients’ needs and responses. Possess the ability to coordinate and communicate with the physician, therapist, patient, and family to develop an appropriate plan of care on an ongoing basis. Be able to educate patient and family about the disease process, precautions, limitations and/or sensations related to the patient's condition either verbally or written, or both. Ability to appropriately and effectively treat patients and document patient care according to policy and within productivity requirements. Follows all hospital and department policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:
  • Graduate of approved school of occupational therapy.  
  • Texas license required. 
  • Attend 3.0 CEU every 2 years.
License/Certification Required:
  • Occupational Therapist, Registered, Licensed (OTR/L)
  • Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
Skills & Abilities:
  • Computer skills required for documentation/charges.
 
Speical Demands:
  • Strong Customer Service skills required as incumbent interacts with multiple staff and physicians.
