You Are: An inpatient medical coder with 2-4 years of inpatient coding experience, and knowledge of ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS. ICD-10-PCS and ICD-10-CMcoding, anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology. Familiar with an automated health care environment. Detail-oriented, able to multi-task and work well under pressure. Able to maintain strict confidentiality of medical records. You Will: Analyze medical records, extracting clinical, pathological, therapeutic and epidemiologic data in accordance with established ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS coding principles and guidelines. Ensure that data is optimally coded for research purposes, financial reimbursement, planning, statistics, and regulatory reporting. Communicate directly with physicians to ensure that clinical documentation is coded timely, accurately, and in compliance with CMS guidelines and national correct coding initiatives. You Need: Good computer, verbal, and written communication skills required. RHIT/RHIA, Certified Coding Program preferred; CCS preferred Experience in an automated healthcare environment required (e.g., electronic medical records, encoder, 360 encompass, email communication). Strong analytic skills in identifying and assigning ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS coding per established guidelines required. #LI-POST!
