Position Summary:

The Digital Product Owner will be part of a cross functional digital product team and will collaborate with peers across the organization and partner with business and development resources to define, document, test, and launch digital solutions that will have a direct and measurable impact on our business, our sales associates and our customers.

The ideal candidate will possess a natural desire to build, analyze and rebuild to make better. She or he will need to be able to influence and inspire others and will often present recommendations to peers, business unit leaders and senior leaders based on data analysis and digital trends. This person has an innate curiosity for digital technology and can prioritize features, enhancements and defects based on business value and severity.

Skills and Capabilities

  • Responsible for articulating the vision and the strategy to the team and stakeholders, ensuring there is alignment and execution of the strategy.
  • Drive the backlog prioritization, leveraging a prioritization framework, to achieve key objectives.
  • Supports SCRUM best practices and techniques, working to deliver value iteratively.
  • Works closely with UX/UI designers to ensure they align on objectives and key results.
  • Advocates on behalf of the customer for the development team (the who)
  • Ensuresuser storiesare “ready” for development to start work
  • Ensures each story has the correctacceptance criteria
  • Gathers, manages, and helps prioritize theproduct backlog
  • Ensures close collaboration with the development team
  • Works closely with engineering and quality assurance to ensure the right customer problem is solved. This can involve sharing market research and competitive analysiswith the team to best focus their efforts.
  • Has technical product knowledge.
  • Tracks progress towards the release of a product
  • Works with a cross-functional team in planning a product release
  • Develops personas either alone or in conjunction with a team including user experience experts
  • Participates in the prioritization of defect or bug resolution
  • Creates and maintains product documentation
  • Requires the ability to understand digital user interactions end to end. Preferably understands digital marketing strategies and MarkTech stacks (e.g. SiteCore, WordPress, DynamicYield, Optimizely, DataHub, Google Analytics, Tealium, etc.
  • Requires critical thinking, decision making, negotiation, creativity, and problem-solving skills and consensus-building skills.
  • Must be detail and process oriented.
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills as reflected by the ability to build relationships and successfully interact tactfully and effectively with colleagues at all levels of the organization and with external constituencies and elicit cooperation and support.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in a suitable area such as Digital Media, Engineering, Marketing, etc.
  2. Possess 3+ years of experience working in an agile environment and understanding agile framework
  3. Understanding of software development and hardware stack for digital development
  4. Experience using collaboration tools such as Team Foundation Server, Jira, VersionOne, Confluence, Trello, Slack, etc.
  5. Basic technology stack understanding (CMS, EComm Platforms, CSS, HTML, APIs and Frameworks)
  6. Good working knowledge of SEO and Digital Advertising/Personalization
  7. Verbal and written skills to communicate effectively team members and stakeholders
  8. Ability to empathize with the respective target market (customer)
  9. Ability to handle changing priorities and to use good judgment when working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  10. Need to have strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  11. Innovative mindset
  12. Confidence, drive, and enthusiasm
  13. Experience using Google Analytics or other web/digital analytics tools is a plus
  14. Experience with website testing or personalization platforms and methodologies a plus
