Eaton’s B-line Division has an opening for an Operations Manager to join our team. The Operations manager will be based out of our Sherman, Texas facility.

Position Overview:

The primary function of the Operations Manager will be to manage multi-product line manufacturing operations in order to meet or exceed safety, quality, delivery, cost and efficiency goals for the shift. They will develop shift supervisors and hourly employees through teaching, coaching, mentoring and leadership. This position will report directly to the Plant Manager.

In this function you will:

+ You will manage the activities of assigned brand production operations, ensuring that a quality product is produced in a timely, efficient manner at the lowest possible cost.

+ You will partner with commercial product line leaders and customer service

+ You will provide leadership and guidance to all production employees in respective product lines.

+ Responsible for shift talent management, employee engagement and performance management – assessing current team members, identifying needs, selecting talent, and developing current employees to ensure “bench strength” and continued development and advancement of top talent within the organization; Provide coaching, motivation, and counseling to employees to encourage optimum performance and continued skill development.

+ You will ensure maintenance of records and reports on productivity, quality, and attendance across the shift.

+ You will monitor productivity to ensure that established shift quality and production levels are maintained or exceeded.

+ You will ensure a safe work environment for all employees, in collaboration with the EHS Manager; Drive and support behavioral based zero incident safety culture.

+ You will champion use of Eaton systems and tools to ensure appropriate execution within assigned areas.

+ You will engage leaders in manufacturing LEAN initiatives including but not limited to operator standard work, 5S, pull systems, empowered work teams, and structured problem solving.

+ You will foster an environment that promotes Eaton’s goals, philosophies, and encourages continuous improvement.

+ You will communicate company policies, procedures, and guidelines and ensure they are consistently practiced.

+ You will utilize key operating indicators for control of product cost, material usage, machine downtime, expenditure control and other shift functions.

+ You will lead the culture change toward one of continuous improvement and contributing to becoming a learning organization.

+ You will emphasize the creation of continuous product flow, utilize pull systems where flow is not currently possible, and work to level the workload.

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

+ Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.

+ Minimum of five (5) years of operations experience in a manufacturing environment.

+ Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and within the future.

+ No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Sherman, Tx will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Prior people management experience.

+ Experience using SAP

+ Lean Six Sigma and Continuous Improvement experience and/or certifications

+ Financial and business acumen.

+ Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma concepts.

+ Knowledge of manufacturing and engineering systems and processes.

+ Good understanding and positive support of standard personnel policies and practices.

+ Strong interpersonal communication skills: Demonstrated ability to build trust and credibility, lead by example, provide ongoing coaching and feedback, manage through conflict, and strive for continuous improvement.

+ Strong managerial courage and ability to work through resistance and pushback to change.

+ Strong drive for results is essential, with self-directed leadership, requiring minimal supervision & being proactive.

+ Must possess high ethical standards and ability to abide by Eaton’s values and philosophies.

+ Must be comfortable working in a fast paced, changing environment.
