Job Description:

Bank of America's Community Development Banking (CDB) group is seeking a Relationship Manager to join our South Region team. CDB is part of the Commercial Real Estate Bank (CREB) and is committed to building stronger and healthier neighborhoods in low- and moderate-income communities by providing financing solutions, including equity investments, to for-profit and non-profit developers of affordable multifamily housing.In 2020, CDB delivered $3.62 billion in debt commitments and $2.25 billion in tax credit equity investments to help build vibrant, sustainable communities through affordable housing and economic development across the country. Candidate MUST have prior commercial real estate lending experience; affordable housing financing experience a plus.

The Relationship Manager is responsible for supporting the overall community development banking business, initially through support of one or more senior level relationship managers as you learn the business. Will include marketing and coordinating the delivery of community development financing and associated banking products and services to clients of the bank as well as business development activities to convert prospects to new clients. Market coverage to be determined, based upon location; 20-30% travel expected.

In conjunction with senior lenders, work with our customers and prospective clients to create financing strategies for the development of affordable housing, community revitalization and rehabilitation. Act in an advisory capacity to assist clients in accessing all areas of the bank to meet clients'financial needs, working with various partners across business lines to deliver the breadth of the bank to our clients. Develop strong working relationships with senior leaders in the affordable housing industry, CDFIs, tax credit investors, syndicators, municipalities, state agencies, intermediaries, consultants, and other lenders. Proficiency with real estate development and finance, sponsorship analysis, project financial analyses and familiarity with a range of financial products and services. *Position may be filled as a Sr. Relationship Manager or a Relationship Manager, depending on experience and qualifications.

Required Skills
  • Minimum 5+ years' experience working within Commercial Real Estate and Community Development
  • Bachelor's Degree (Master's degree a plus).
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong knowledge of real estate fundamentals and underwriting, as well as sales training/skills.
  • Must possess the flexibility to travel throughout the region in support of clients.
