Drake Athletics seeks qualified candidates to apply for the position of Director/Assistant Director of the Bulldog Club. Reporting to the Senior Associate Athletics Director for External Affairs, the Director/Assistant Director will be responsible for guiding all facets of the Bulldog Club, which is the primary fundraising arm for Drake Athletics. The successful candidate will focus on cultivating strong relationships with current Bulldog Club donors, developing and implementing strategies for cultivating new donors, and employing new and creative stewardship initiatives that result in increased membership and gifts to Athletics. The Director/Assistant Director of the Bulldog Club will also manage a portfolio of current and prospective donors to Drake University, and will be responsible for cultivating, soliciting and stewarding gifts to Athletics. As a member of the External Affairs team, this position will also work closely with ticket office, marketing, communications, and video services staff to coordinate a vision for Drake Athletics branding and awareness that will result in increased engagement with the Des Moines community and attendance at Drake University events. A minimum of 2 years of experience in fundraising, collegiate athletics or a relevant field is preferred. The successful candidate should have a valid drivers license, and meet the insurability requirements to drive on behalf of the University. Salary and title is commensurate with experience, in addition to a robust benefits package provided by Drake University. Function Percent Description 01 30% Directs day to day strategies and operations of Athletics annual giving (Bulldog Club). 02 20% Manage portfolio consisting of roughly 125 prospects. Goals relating to number of personal contacts, and number of proposed gifts, grants, and prospect identification to be set with and approved by management. 03 10% Works directly with Drake Ticket Office staff to allocate seating, parking and other Bulldog Club benefits. 04 10% Works daily to ensure timely, accurate completion of proposals, pledges and fund agreements. Documents prospect strategies and contact reports, evaluates new prospects and generates stewardship reports and general correspondence daily to cultivate donor prospects. 05 10% Works to cultivate existing, larger annual fund and greater donor relationships with the intent of sustaining and increasing the relationship with the donor. 06 10% Assists with planning and implementation of fundraising events for Bulldog Club and Drake Athletics. 07 10% Represents Drake Athletics at events in order to support the University and cultivate donors. 08 0% All other duties as assigned by the Sr. Associate AD for External Affairs. 09 0% All of the duties described above require an understanding of and compliance with the rules of the NCAA, the Missouri Valley Conference, Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, the Pioneer Football League, and/or the Summit League, and Drake University.
