The Tomaras lab is looking for data-oriented individuals with a background in clinical or immunological science for an entry level position as part of a growing data & application management team (DAMT). The DAMT serves various basic research, pre -clinical, and clinical operations being conducted by multi-disciplinary teams for a variety of global networks and partners. The position servers as a great steppingstone for those interested in developing skills and experience in fields relating to Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, and Information Technology.



  • Perform quality control (QC) tasks for various laboratory functional groups as a part of a multi-step data processing and approval process before reporting results. Assist in the development and improvement of QC processes for new assay pipelines.
  • Complete data processing tasks and maintain databases, prepare and maintain data, format and transmit data to external groups, and prepare reports in support of data to ensure adherence to protocols and quality of information received. Collaborate with functional groups to complete requests made to the DAMT.
  •  Assist with maintenance and development of Lab Information System s (LIS) to support data processing and qc pipelines. Support lab staff with training and troubleshooting LIS systems, including working with system vendors and IT department as needed. Assist with LIMS administration as needed.
  • Assisting validation of data management processes for clinical trials for the Tomaras laboratory as part of the clinical compliance core. Taking part in risk assessment, validation plan design, and qualification testing and documentation for various code bases and applications.
  • Work with statistical and research teams to coordinate data processing, QC analysis, and transmission to external groups as necessary to ensure accurate and timely reporting of data. Create reports as needed to determine progress, adverse trends, and appropriate recommendations or conclusions as needed.
  • Work with antigen tracker group to collect, analyze, and track the performance of assay component across studies and ongoing laboratory efforts.
  • Assist in the development and improvement of data processes for new and existing assay platforms. Advise in the development and planning of reports and analyses to support laboratory processes. Coordinate operations between external partners and internal groups to facilitate implementation, maintenance, and support of data pipelines.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.           


Education & Experience

  • Requires Bachelor’s degree in field relating to biostatistics, bioinformatics, or biology related degree with CS /IT experience, or CS/IT degree with biology related experience. 
  • Experienced with picking up and working with various software applications.
  • Intermediate level experience with a relevant programming language (R, Python, SQL, SAS)
  • Preferred knowledge or interest of clinical trials, biological laboratory research, and surrounding regulatory principles normally acquired through education, training, or experience
  • Preferred knowledge or interest in data collection, and associated data management tools, normally acquired through education, training, or experience.
