Primary Role:

This position reports to the Director of Digital Communication Services and will be primarily responsible for the management of DHTS Web Services Teams which includes personnel in both the public and internal web hosting team’s technology support team as well as our growing SalesForce development team.  The manager provides communication and technical direction in the support and maintenance of DHTS Web Services and SalesForce group. The manager also serves as the liaison with DHTS management and customer representatives. DHTS Web Services group has the day-to-day responsibilities for the hosting, deployment, and maintenance of internal and externally accessible Duke Health web sites. Additionally, this role will be working as a key member of a team tasked with defining a strategy for SalesForce at Duke, guiding its implementation, and working with key business partners and leadership to establish an enterprise platform to further build upon. 

 

 

Essential Tasks/Responsibilities:

  • Manage projects and technical tasks for a team of analysts in support of the above role
  • Provide customer education related to best technology usage and best practice in the Duke Health environment.
  • Assist in developing technical and research/security compliance knowledge of the staff
  • Provide technical and strategic leadership to the team
  • Work with the management team to develop a strategic vision
  • Manage the day-to-day staff activities and assignments as well as all DHTS Web Services functions and personnel
  • Monitor staff project progress and report status and metrics to the Collaboration and Workforce Services Director
  • Evaluate requests for service and prioritize and assign resources in order to maximize customer satisfaction
  • Participate in other project planning efforts as they relate to DHTS Web Services initiatives, including project management on key efforts such as:
  • Implementation of Drupal 8
  • Develop plans for migration to SharePoint Online
  • Strategic and tactical work implementing SalesForce
  • Forecast and manage operating budgets
  • Perform all personnel management functions, personnel evaluations and performance reviews, including disciplinary action when required
  • Provide administrative oversight to ensure security compliance:
  • Assess, review, and oversee System Security, Business Continuity, and Disaster Recovery Plans, ensuring consistency with Duke Medicine policies and standards
  • Assess, review, and oversee system and process measures to protect Duke systems from external and internal security attacks.
  • Assess, review, and oversee system and process measures for managing and securing access to Duke systems.
  • Identify violations of existing security standards and best practices and escalate appropriately
  • Continually improve security and deployment processes and standards
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein

 
Education/Training
Required: BA/BS degree or equivalent relevant training or experience


Experience Required:

  • 3 – 5 years of project management/team leadership/supervisory experience
  • 5 – 7 years of related technical experience in web technologies and development


Strongly Preferred:

  • SalesForce – primarily in implementing a center of excellence and managing a team of Salesforce Analyst and Developers

 
Preferred:

  • DevOps
  • Drupal/SharePoint
  • Experience implementing new initiatives and technologies in a large organization
  • Experience with implementing Agile framework

  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred

  • Technical knowledge relevant to the medical research environment
  • Technical Audit experience
  • ITIL Foundations V3 Certified
  • Lean Six Sigma Certified
