LinQuest is seeking a Space Operations Analyst to work at the Pentagon.

The Space Ops Analyst will support the US Space Force Headquarters Staff, Pentagon. The USSF is a military service that organizes, trains, and equips space forces in order to protect U.S. and allied interests in space and to provide space capabilities to the joint force. USSF responsibilities include developing Guardians, acquiring military space systems, maturing the military doctrine for space power, and organizing space forces to present to our Combatant Commands. The National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year (FY) 2020 established the USSF as a new branch of the Armed Forces within the Department of the Air Force (DAF).


  • Conduct research, analysis and assessment on Space capabilities as well as emerging Space technologies. Brief/submit assessments to Senior USSF leadership, as required
  • Provide strategic-level expertise in Space Force acquisitions, orbital warfare, cybersecurity, readiness, strategic planning and Space Command & Control.
  • Assess all USSF elements, from missions and systems to personnel and processes and submitcomprehensive assessment reportsto guide and inform weight of effort and focus areas
  • Provide Subject Matter Expertise and analysis for space systems and space mission areas.
  • Facilitate and support the development of executable Analyses and plans for implementation to influence and guide planning and requirements, programming, budgeting and execution.
  • Provide input into the development of USSF policies, strategies and programs that are fully consistent with national security objectives and policies established by the President or the Secretary of Defense
  • Drafts and coordinates customer’s official correspondence, presentations, speeches, briefings, meeting prep, and public appearances.
  • Collaborates with senior-level decision-makers’ staffs from DoD, IC, civil and international partners, and other U.S. Government agencies to ensure unity of effort across the defense space enterprise and, as appropriate, the Defense Space enterprise.
  • Manages accounts on NIPRNet & SIPRNet and the Task Management Tool, to ensure action items are appropriately tasked, tracked, and closed in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Space enterprise to include DoD requirements, acquisition, and budgeting processes and applicable Defense Space guidance and policy.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, lead and execute studies or projects and outbrief results to senior leadership.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal, organizational, oral presentation and executive writing skills.
  • Experience supporting Service HQ or DoD Agency or IC staffs.
Required Skills:

  • Familiarity with Defense Space and National Security Space in the areas of strategy, requirements, capabilities, analysis, architectures, programs, acquisition, and operations.
  • Familiarity with civil, commercial and international space capabilities and architectures.
  • Familiarity with the DoD space control systems and architectural analysis.
  • Experience evaluating DoD, AFSPC, SMC, or NRO space systems.
  • Familiarity with TMT and/or or other HQ staffing tools
Required Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent, plus 5-15 yrs. applicable experience
  • Must have an active TS/SCI clearance to be considered for the position.
Preferred Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Space Systems or a STEM field.
  • 15+ years’ experience in an Ops, engineering, scientific, analysis, policy or planning field related to Defense Space
  • HQ AF/SAF staff experience within the past 3 years
