The immunogenicity research group at Lilly’s Biotechnology Center in San Diego seeks an experienced scientist with knowledge and research experience in immunogenicity assessment. The successful candidate will lead efforts to assist in the development of novel as well as implementation of established in-vitro platforms for determination of immunogenicity of various therapeutic modalities (antibodies, nanobodies, peptides, antibody-drug conjugates, RNA-based drugs, gene therapy). This will progress our research efforts and address potential molecule tolerability issues such as injection site reactions. Responsibilities:

  • In-depth knowledge with in silico immunogenicity prediction analysis tools for biologics
  • Critically analyze, interpret and report experimental results. Draw appropriate conclusions and identify new strategies to assess and mitigate immunogenicity risk of biotherapeutics.
  • Prepare, review, and sign off on technical documents and reports.
  • Supervise and mentor Scientists and Research Associates as needed.
  • Provide guidance and recommendations to colleagues from cross-functional groups on immunogenicity risk assessment and mitigation strategies
  • Responsible for ensuring that all studies are compliant to relevant SOP guidelines and in line with regulatory agency expectations.
  • Lead laboratory activities and ensure scheduled work is executed as planned.
  • Organize and present data to support decisions in collaboration with the integrated immunogenicity research group.
  • Review the literature, attend meetings and conferences, and maintain an updated knowledge in the field.
  • Contribute to the preparation of scientific products, such as original research publications and presentations; writing of reports, protocols, brochures, for internal use and publication, as well as other regulatory documents when appropriate

Basic Qualifications:

Ph.D. degree in immunology, biochemistry or similar field with at least 5+ years of successful experience; a strong publication record in relevant area.

  • Ability to work both independently and in a team setting.
  • Able to prioritize work and meet target timelines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, work planning, data analysis and record keeping skills (with strong attention to detail).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) required.
