Department Overview

Payments, Virtual Solutions, and Innovation /Community Bank Technology within the Enterprise Information Technology business provides strategic technology solutions to the both the PVSI and Community Banking lines of business, including application design, development, and support.

About the Role

Fraud Prevention and Authentication within Digital Technology & Innovation has an opportunity for a Senior Engineer in its Secure Identity Management Services (SIMS) development team.
This is a software delivery and operationally focused position for SIMS platform. This position requires a broad range of skills and experience ranging from SOA knowledge to build tools and configuration management to relational databases. We are looking for senior engineers with background in supporting complex, high volume and highly available J2ee application environment.


  • Identify and co-ordinate assembly of software modules pertaining to a release.
    • Build and deploy applications in release environments, co-ordinate dev testing and certify releases to QA environment.
    • Support deployment activities in pre-production and production environments including troubleshooting of release blockers such as infrastructure, configuration, and code.
    • Prepare installation and troubleshooting documents and participate in operational reviews.
    • Provide on-call pager support during off-hours as needed
    • Identify new monitoring and operational metrics and develop scripts for install and post install monitoring

Essential Qualifications

5+ years of experience in Release Engineering or similar roles
Knowledge/Skills/Ability Knowledge and understanding of technology deployment: J2EE applications in complex environments
Knowledge/Skills/Ability Knowledge and understanding of relational databases: SQL
Technology Git or GitHub experience

Desired Qualifications

Experience incorporating Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery practices in Agile Teams
• In-depth experience in configuring, deploying and performance tuning J2ee applications in a high volume, high availability environment.
• In-depth experience in troubleshooting and database performance tuning and resolving database replication issues in an Oracle Exadata environment.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional work teams toward task completion.
• Experience with Agile development practices and working with multiple Scrum teams
• Prior experience with deploying and supporting large scale Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) implementations.
• Hands-on experience with SOA testing tools like Postman or Jmeter
