Regional Medical Center of San Jose is a 264 bed acute care hospital with a Level II Trauma Center. The hospital provides a host of technologically-advanced services including Cardiovascular, Neuro, Orthopedic, Bariatric and General Surgery, Interventional Pulmonology and services for Women. Regional holds Joint Commission advanced certification as a Comprehensive Stroke Center and a Get with the Guidelines- Stroke Gold Plus Performance Achievement Award from the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association. County-designated STEMI (heart attack) Receiving Center, designated Lung Cancer Screening Center, a member of Extracorporeal Life Support Organization (ECMO) and is certified by The Joint Commission in Sepsis care.

Schedule: 0.8 (32 hours per week)  Shift:  Days with rotating weekends  

 

 

POSITION SUMMARY:  Renders professional nursing care to patients within the Post Anesthesia Care Unit. Supports medical care as directed by a physician; functions in accordance with hospital policies and procedures; meets competency standards for orientation and at least annually thereafter. Meets responsibilities and performance standards of a RN I. Functions as a clinically competent nurse who provides safe and effective nursing care in a particular area of practice.  

Qualifications

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum:  CA RN license, BCLS, ACLS, PALS

Preferred: CCRN, TNCC

 

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum: At least one year recent ICU or PACU experience.

Preferred: Two years PACU experience in a setting with critical care patients, or two years ICU experience.

 

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum:  Graduation from an accredited nursing school.

Preferred:  BSN

 

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS: Ability to use critical thinking skills and prioritize aspects of patient care; possesses good interpersonal communication skills. Ability to care for critical care patients in the PACU. Ability to care for patients with arterial line, CVP lines and ICP monitoring.
