Job Description:

Global Procurement is part of the Global Corporate Services organization. Our operating model is guided by strategy, aligned to the business, is centered on a process and control framework, and is enabled by technology. The Procurement teams are the single point of contact for the businesses across all functional areas and accountable to deliver end-to-end capabilities across the Third Party Process lifecycle.

This role supports the enterprise software procurement needs of Consumer, Small Business, Wealth Management, Global Banking, Finance Technology and Core Technology Infrastructure. This role will be responsible for negotiating complex deals from inception to completion. Performs research to obtain market knowledge, uses experience to develop and execute intricate procurement strategies and assigns roles and responsibilities to Bank of America team members. Viewed as a trusted advisor by the Front Line Unit (FLU)/Control Function (CF), has the knowledge to maximize the competitive marketplace and is able to achieve significant cost savings and maximum value. Supports FLU/CF personnel in effectively implementing the Third Party Policy, including FLU's/CF's effective use of third parties. May also be responsible for supporting FLU/CF throughout the third party lifecycle third party governance activities and other program requirements.

Responsibilities include:
  • Manage a 12-18 month pipeline of contracts
  • Able to lead a team in the development of a negotiation approach, identification of qualified third party providers (including diverse providers), create complex request for proposal documents (technical, contractual, schedule and cost), and drive analysis of proposal responses/overall evaluation of all bidders
  • Negotiates contracts utilizing best practices, assists the business owner in creating business requirements including Schedules, Statement of Works and Service Level Agreements, providing clarity and addressing all business requirements
  • Experience with legal contract concepts (Limitation of Liability, Indemnification, Information Protection, etc.)) and able to drive negotiation acceptance of Bank of America's required language with those terms
  • Work routinely with risk partners (Legal, Compliance, Information Security, etc.) in negotiating deals and in managing outsourcing risk
  • Consistently provides a high level of service by establishing and clearly communicating mutual expectations, developing an understanding of business needs and demonstrating competency and consistency in meeting commitments
  • Builds broad-based business relationships and partnerships across the organization, skillfully influences peers and colleagues to promote ideas, and proactively surfaces and resolves conflict with minimal impact
  • Identify and escalate risks and issues to the appropriate governance routines
  • Analyze and determine adherence to Bank of America's Third Party Program

Required Skills & Experience:
  • 5+ years of procurement experience, preferably in the financial services sector or 5+ years relevant business experience
  • Four-year college degree or equivalent experience
  • Strong contract negotiation skillset and experience covering both legal and commercial terms
  • Strong business acumen and ability to connect market intelligence to actionable procurement tactics
  • Experience managing multiple tasks simultaneously and to deadlines, including strong prioritization and time management skills
  • Ability to manage data, analyze information to identify critical risks, and report analysis to executive-level audiences
  • Experience with the negotiation of social and environmental contract obligation
  • Proven track record of leading procurement activities and/or relevant business activity
  • Proven ability to communicate, partner and influence across a matrix organization, quickly builds relationships in order to deliver effective business partnering
  • Ability to communicate concepts and ideas both verbally and in written form, including, but not limited to, e-mails, narratives, and presentations
  • Must be able to work independently and set goals/prioritized focus
  • Skilled user of MS Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Project, etc.)

Desired Skills & Experience:
  • Possesses an ability to think creatively/critically and connect ideas, events and circumstances to provide procurement solutions
  • Prior experience procuring information technology software, hardware and services
  • Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or equivalent certification
