NextEra Energy Resources is one of the largest wholesale generators of electric power and renewable energy from the wind and sun in North America.

Position Specific Description

This position sits within the Power Generation Division which is responsible for all of NextEra Energy's non-nuclear generation operations, exceeding 40,000 megawatts (MW) of installed capacity. The plant is located in the town of Bellingham, in south central Massachusetts. It is a 300-megawatt gas or oil-fired, combined-cycle plant.

In addition to the duties listed below this individual will be responsible for the following:
  • Must be proficient in calibrating, maintaining and troubleshooting the following instrumentation: Transmitters, Switches of all types, Valves, Analyzers (Air Emissions and Water Chemistry).
  • Experience working with various Distributed Control System's (DCS), Ovation preferred.
  • Must be able to read and understand technical manuals, P&ID's, electrical schematics and control logic (SAMA) diagrams.
  • State license 2nd class fireman or ability to obtain highly preferred.
  • Combine cycle plant operations experience is preferred.

Must be able to respond to off-hour callouts, work a reasonable amount of overtime.

Job Overview

Employees in this position perform power plant operations as well as maintenance on station equipment.

  • Repairs and calibrates equipment
  • Monitors equipment performance through testing
  • Applies advanced electrical, mechanical, or I and C skills
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High School Grad / GED
  • Experience: 2+ years
  • Valid Driver's License (NON-CDL)
