Position Summary

Performs a variety of tasks involved with the flow of product throughout the shop. Moves and stages materials for throughout the facility. Ensures availability of inventory items, determines methods of storage and stock location, considering height and weight limits, turns, floor-loading capacities, and required space. Uses forklift and pallet jacks to move material.


1. Moves parts and updates the location data in the computer.
2. Issues kits for production (WIP) and final assembly.
3. Maintains inventory accuracy.
4. Insures that inventory items are available when needed.
5. Transports parts and materials between locations and departments as needed and in accordance to product routers.
6. Receives finished goods from production (WIP).
7. Maintains a clean work area and assists in departmental housekeeping.
8. Complies with safety procedures and company policies.
9. Completes other duties and projects as assigned.
10. Actively participates in company-sponsored training programs.


1. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. These skills are normally acquired through the completion of a high school education or equivalent.
2. Ability to use computer and MS Office packages.
3. Ability to lift 35 pounds.
4. Ability to read and interpret engineering bills of materials and blueprints.
5. Ability to operate a forklift.
