McKesson's Relay Pharmacy division has an opening for a Software Engineer in our Atlanta, North Druid Hills office.

Position Description

McKesson's RelayHealth Pharmacy division has an opportunity in our Atlanta, GA North Druid Hills office for a Software Engineer. This position will work on new development modernizing legacy products to cloud.

  • Implement application modules for real time transaction processing applications within a hybrid-cloud system that are highly available, and scalable.
  • Work with the Product teams and participate in the process of creating/estimating and refining user stories/requirements.
  • Required to design, build, deploy, test, and debug components as needed in accordance with best practices throughout the SDLC.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills (ability to identify, formulate, and solve engineering problems).
  • Building frameworks and reusable assets that can be leveraged cross functional teams.
  • Drive engineering best practices with TDD and BDD methodologies
  • Participate in technology evaluations/POCs and code/design reviews.
  • A critical thinker that challenges assumptions and seeks new ideas.
  • Should understand cloud information flows (XaaS) and how to build modules aligned to cloud-based applications.

Minimum Qualifications

Degree or equivalent experience. Typically requires 4+years of relevant experience

Critical Skills
  • Language Proficiency: demonstrated experience with multiple modern languages that can run in the cloud including Java, Python, C#
  • Strong Experience and familiarity with Agile tools and delivery methodologies
  • Demonstrated experience with cloud (GCP/Azure), with a preference to candidates that have modernized on-premise systems into the cloud
  • Strong understanding of the SDLC with a DevSecOps focus and ability to deliver operational ready systems
  • Experience in application containerization and having experience in on-premise and cloud deployment of containers
  • Demonstrated experience using one or more database models including SQL, NoSQL, or a Graph
  • Demonstrated experience in building microservices utilizing RESTful APIs.
  • Strong experience in enabling code to align with a CI/CD process (JIRA, Jenkins, Git)
  • Experience in being a part of an Agile team, understands the ceremonies and role within the team

Additional Knowledge & Skills Preferred

  • Development framework experience, including Java/Spring, .Net Core, Angular, or React (UI)
  • Knowledge, Usage of Code quality and security approaches to include use of code smells, security vulnerability identification/resolution, tools (e.g. Sonarqube, Veracode, Zap)
  • Prefer Healthcare business domain knowledge especially in the area of Pharmacy transactions
  • Experience working with solutions in highly regulated industries (eg Healthcare, Financial)
  • Modern development tools and practices, including Cloud platforms (GCP or Azure), Continuous Integration and Deployment/Delivery (CI/CD), security development and testing practices (DevSecOps)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • B.S. degree in Computer Science or related engineering discipline, or equivalent experience
