**Description:** This position is for an Engineering Mid\-level Leader \(MLL\), who will be part of the RMS Valley Forge Engineering & Technology \(E&T\) organization, specifically responsible for the C2, Digital Signal Processing, and Precision Navigation & Timing \(C2, DSP & PNT\) organization and the collection of programs that fall under that Mission Area \(Advanced Programs portfolio\)\. Selected candidate will be responsible for functionally leading their organization, consisting of multiple First Line Managers \(FLMs\), as well as direct reports \(~15 direct reports \(including FLMs\), with a total org size of ~50 employees\)\. As an MLL, you will have an immediate impact in shaping the organization’s future\. This is an opportunity lead a dynamic team, drawing upon previous leadership experience and your own technical expertise, you will help your team overcome challenges and build the organizational talent to solve the challenges of the future\.

Selected candidate will be responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions\. Selected candidate will be involved in all aspects of functional, programmatic and technical coordination and execution of the programs supported under this Mission Area\. This includes managing content across multiple agile development teams, staffing across the engaging with the customer regularly, and supporting the E&T Site Lead, EPM, Chief’s Office, and PMO in day to day program execution\. Selected candidate will be responsible for managing technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems\. In addition to this functional role, selected candidate will also have a technical program role\.

• Coach and oversee group and individual development using technical leadership and performance management

• Ensure efforts are effectively staffed and that personnel are fully engaged and committed to program success

• Maintain awareness, engagement and communication of critical issues and their reach across programs

• Lead and execute strategic initiatives to improve cost, schedule, and technical performance

**Basic Qualifications:**

• Degree from an accredited college, or equivalent experience/combined education, with professional experience and specialized training commensurate with assignment\.

• Demonstrated experience in leadership with the ability to build effective and trusting relationships with customers, management, teammates, peers and subordinates

• Demonstrated experience effectively communicating \(verbal, written and presentation\) with all employee levels, senior management, internal stakeholders and external customers, etc\.

• Demonstrable knowledge and experience with systems or software engineering activities on real\-time systems

• Must be able to assist in problem solving exploration in many disciplines/domains\.

• Strong and proven understanding of the Engineering development process, specifically agile development

• Strong full spectrum leader with demonstrated experience and ability in leading teams\. Must have recent and successful L\-coded experience \.

• Strong process focus with ability to recognize opportunities for improvement and drive required changes\.

• Proven ability to build a team and set a business rhythm to achieve program/functional/strategic objectives and priorities\.

• Proven leadership experience in engineering assignments and successful results in leading and executing multi\-discipline programs\.

• Must be a proven self\-starter with demonstrated capability to proactively work through difficult technical, project and resource challenges\.

• Must have knowledge and experience with resource and staffing requirements\.

• Must be capable of assessing performance of direct reports\.

• Must be capable of setting expectations and goals for direct reports\.

• Must show the desire and ability to conduct effective career development and planning with direct reports\.

• Must be capable of matching career opportunities to desires and goals of direct reports\.

• Must have demonstrated strong mentoring capabilities\.

• Must have cost account manager \(CAM\) and Earned Value Management \(EVM\), and Project Management experience
