Job Description
The MinuteClinic Registered Nurse assists in providing medical services in a unique retail setting. Under the supervision of a MinuteClinic Senior Practice Manager, with day to day direction from the primary investigator, the Registered Nurse will advance the evidence-based practice in all patient encounters as they perform the major job duties and tasks within the scope of their training.

• Clinical skills: documentation of care, medication administration, infection control precautions, assessing patient educational needs, physical assessment, obtaining vital signs, care coordination.
• CLIA/non- CLIA skills

Responsibilities include but are not limited to
Performing medical services, specific to clinical trials protocols
• Complete protocol specific training
• Attend Site Initiation Visits and sign SIV-log
• Conduct study visits and telephone visits per the protocol by way of subject specific orders from a:
 Offsite External PI Oversight
 Or CVS Sub-Investigator NP/PA Oversight
 On Site
 Off Site
• Receive and prepare study drug
• Administer investigational product
• Review concomitant meds and medical history (including ROS, HPI)
• Collect and document vital signs on patients
• Preparing, administering, and providing vaccination services.
• Perform, but not interpret, diagnostic procedures (EKG/ECG, spirometry)
• Collect study samples per protocol (urine, blood draw)
• Enter data into source (paper or electronic)
• Resolve queries generated by Sponsor/CRO
• Review Concomitant Meds and Adverse Events (AEs)/SAEs
• Collect study samples per protocol (urine, blood draw)
 Perform blood draws and sending samples to a reference lab for processing.
 Able to demonstrate proper collection techniques in accordance with the laboratory collection services policy and procedure manual.
 Maintains knowledge of laboratory tests and appropriate computer ordering codes.
 Process specimens maintaining specimen integrity according to individual test requirements.
• Identify protocol deviation
• Answer role specific questions during Monitor and Auditor visits
• Perform CLIA waived point of care testing on patients, in adherence to CTS protocol
• Perform additional medical services that fall within the licensure of a Registered Nurse under the supervision of a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.

Quality Patient Care
• Performs a focused history and physical assessment per MinuteClinic clinical guidelines.
• Provides patient education verbally and in writing regarding the diagnosis and treatment plan.
• Demonstrates courteous and professional manner toward the public.
• Responds to patients/customers’ needs. Focuses on retaining current patients and attracting new clients.
• Knowledgeable of the EMR system including ability to register patients, document clinical record, and manage end of visit activities

Integrity and Professionalism
• Adheres to the appropriate code of ethics and works within the MinuteClinic scope of practice.
• Demonstrates a high level of confidentiality and trustworthiness.
• Acts in a way that promotes a positive, respectful, and supportive environment for patients and family.
• Continually strives to increase knowledge and skills. Stays current with medical/healthcare trends and procedures, etc.
• Maintains appropriate and up-to-date licensing, certifications, and CME.
• Fosters a team environment among co-workers and does not negatively influence employees or site operations.

Clinic Environment
• Keeps the clinic clean and uncluttered.
• Assist with managing patients in the waiting space and level set wait time expectations.
• Act as a chaperone if a patient or provider in the primary exam room requests one.
• Champion a culture of medical and business accountability, and communicate opportunities and recommendations to the provider.
• Drive operational excellence to maximize clinic workflow, patient experience and quality standards.
• Answer questions regarding insurance co-payment, billing and additional charges for services.
• Ordering and maintaining adequate supplies for the clinic.
• Participate in community engagement outreach and initiatives to drive practice growth.
• Follows universal precautions in cleaning up or disposing of any blood of body flui

Administrative Duties
• Participates as requested in representing the company to the public at various professional conferences and seminars.
• Communicates questions and agenda items for staff meetings.
• Assists in finding replacements to cover unanticipated time off or schedule changes that are unrelated to illness.
• Assists in new employee training when needed.
• Supports ordering of trial supplies/equipment.
• Complete main site IRB required forms and assist in IRB response relating to CVS trial conduct
• Document IRB approval, and IRB approved consent
• Schedule site visits, as appropriate, and confirm set-up
• Document staff training and site initiation visit
• Resolve queries generated by Sponsor/CRO
• Schedule follow up visits for patients, as appropriate
• Notify Sponsor of AE/SAE experienced by participant, provide appropriate documentation as requested.
• Arrange long-term storage for study documentation after study close-out
• Remove study staff access to PHI after study close-out
• Identify protocol deviation and document as appropriate
• Schedule monitoring visits with sites
• Manage clinical trial operations regionally including communications with the AMCs, IRBs, vendors, CROs, and Sponsors.
• Train and oversee trial delivery staff on protocol specific requirements and terminology.
• Manage study materials/equipment including documentation, storage, and disposal/return.
• Ensure study documentation including delegation of authority log, protocol training logs, and monitoring visit logs are up to date.
• Coordinate study events/meetings including, but not limited to, study start-up visits/training, monitoring visits, and audits/inspections.
• As necessary, draft and submit IRB submissions including initial submissions, annual reports, amendments, AEs/SAEs, protocol deviations, and study termination.
• Contribute to development of clinical trial operations SOPs and ensure adherence to maintain standardization and compliance with regulatory policies.
• Respond to escalated queries and ensure data entry and responses are completed within protocol designated windows.
• Ensure proper equipment and up to date kits are in CVS site locations to conduct study visits.

Additional Duties
• Employee may be required to complete or be responsible for additional job duties as assigned by Primary Investigator, Clinical Trials Operational Lead, Senior Practice Manager, or Area Director.
• At the direction of your manager, you may be asked to perform duties outside of the typical day-to-day functions of the role to support various other MinuteClinic initiatives.”

Required Qualifications
• Minimum of one-year related work experience to include working with patients in an outpatient or ambulatory care setting and under the direct supervision of a clinical trials primary investigator
• The RN must have a full, active, and unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse in a State, Territory or Commonwealth of the United States or District of Columbia.

Preferred Qualifications
• Prior clincial trials work experience
• Proficiency with an Electronic Medical Record, taking
vital signs, performing phlebotomy blood draws and performing Point of Care Testing

B.S. degree in Nursing, approved by the State Agency and/or accredited by the Commission on the Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) at the time the program was completed by the applicant.
