Responsible for directing and controlling the activities of design, analysis, planning and implementation of network components. Directs the company's network engineering technical work activities by supporting network and customer services. Leads and manages subordinate positions who supervise, develop policies, practices, methods and procedures, provide technical analysis with product/program vendors to develop and integrate new services in the central office switch/transport and associated common equipment architecture. Directs the development and delivery of training, consulting, and educational programs relating to quality tools, techniques, and methodologies. Directs interactions with all organizational areas to identify and respond to specific quality program development/implementation needs. Directs the identification, analysis, development, and documentation of process improvements. Provides strong support for the overall management of the reported BU's quality tools and techniques. Works with outside vendors to identify/schedule programs and support materials Typically manages activities of a broad functional area through first or second level managers. Typically reports within the Third Level Management.

This position may be responsible for contributing to AT&T's compliance with environmental laws and regulations as applicable to its job function. This may include, but is not limited to, work related to fuel tanks, emergency and stand-by generators, boilers, hazardous waste, hazardous materials, batteries, manholes and vaults, water wells, linear and other construction projects, water discharge, or air emissions.
