Leading, identifying and implementing Morgan lean initiatives across the entire company. Teaching, mentoring and facilitating implementation of the Morgan Manufacturing System. Continuously identifying best practices, processes and standard work and integrating into Morgan’s manufacturing strategy (standard work).


1. Lead the implementation of Morgan’s lean foundational strategies (engage the work force, straight through flow, one piece flow, cycle time variation reduction tools/strategies)

2. Lead plants in the 2nd tier of Morgan’s lean manufacturing strategy by optimizing key bottlenecks identified by the one piece flow and data analysis.

3. Lead plants in problem solving using the scientific method.

4. Lead Kaizen/PPS workshops specifically targeting problems identified through data analysis.

5. Develop action plans from workshops and have an unwavering follow up process to insure success.

6. Stay current of the latest lean strategies through seminars, books and contacts.

7. Understand the underlying principles behind lean strategies and spread throughout the company.

8. Be a recognized lean expert in the company.

9. Lead Morgan’s quest for attaining the Shingo Prize.

10. Potential travel up to 35% to our other plants.

11. Special major projects will require extended stays that will take several months.

12. Implement Andon systems across the entire company.

13. Through Kaizen/PPS workshops develop best practices for work centers and spread to all other plants.

14. Lead the development of laying out new plants consistent with Morgan’s manufacturing strategy/principles.

15. Lead the financial analytics and tracking system for savings and cost reduction initiatives across the company.

16. Developed best practices protocols and share lessons learned across all manufacturing locations.

17. Prepare presentations, meeting notes and any other supporting documentation for the steering committee, management reviews and Board meetings.

18. Perform other related duties as assigned.


• Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Manufacturing or Engineering focus

• 10+ years of professional experience in a manufacturing industry, preferably within an automotive, truck environment

• Previous experience as a manufacturing plant or maintenance engineer preferred

• Career progression through various manufacturing roles

• Proven strength in manufacturing, assembly, operations, Lean, P&L, finance analytics and first-rate leadership skills

• Proof record of cost savings tracking system and implementation

• Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, Minitab

• Excellent knowledge of Lean, as modeled after the Toyota Production System

• Experience in multi-plant environment

• Must possess the ability to establish rapport and working relationships at all levels of the organization and communicate effectively throughout

• Strong follow-up and follow-through skills

• Willingness to travel domestically at least 35% of the time with some international travel

• Traveling on business by air and ground to include driving rental cars when appropriate.


Working in an office environment in a seated position a minimum of eight hours per day is required. At times, this job operates in a manufacturing plant environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
