Essential Functions: POSITION SUMMARY: Position develops, writes and edits material for manuals, proposals, instruction books, on-line help systems, and related technical and administrative publications.? The focus for this title is updating websites for the Department of Surgery. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Studies specifications and prototypes of software, operating procedures, sequence and operating detail. Organizes material and completes writing assignment according to set standards and department guidelines. Reviews materials and recommends revisions or changes. Maintains records and files of work and revisions. Lays out material for publication. Arranges for typing, duplication and distribution of material. Assists with selection of illustration material. Assists with editing, standardizing or changes to material by other staff. Required Qualifications: Equivalent of a bachelor’s degree in technical writing or related field. Preferred Qualifications: Working knowledge of technical writing, computers and applications and communication skills. 1-2 years of experience in computer systems and applications preferred. Salary Range: The hiring range for this position is $19.18 - $24.47 per hour.
