We have an exciting opportunity to work as part of our multi-disciplinary Innovation Lead Consulting team @ The Dock – Accenture’s global centre for Innovation – to help us realise our vision of being the most creative, influential and effective agent of change in global business. As a general ‘all-round’ data scientist, you are curious about data and the stories that hide within it. You love to play with data; slice and dice it, pull it apart, ask probing questions of it, and use it to drive valuable outcomes. Data is your playground, and you are extremely comfortable there. You have the ability to build data models and clearly communicate your findings- and the implications of these findings- to clients, team members & stakeholders. You are a fast learner and like to actively discover & learn new tools & techniques. You enjoy working in truly multi-disciplinary teams and are comfortable with ambiguity and changing requirements working on the front line of innovation, thriving in a fast-paced environment.

What you’ll be doing

As a data scientist, you will:

+ Act as a hands-on data-driven practitioner by analysing data, generating insights and building data models.

+ Work very closely with designers, engineers, strategists and SMEs on project teams to experiment, build prototypes and test business hypotheses.

+ Engage with clients to understand their business needs and pain points and help shape projects and work streams to address these.

+ Investigate, discover & acquire alternative means and sources of data to expedite experiments and projects.

+ Help build and grow the technology and data capability at The Dock through new tools, technologies, processes and resources that will facilitate fast and effective experimentation.

+ Identify A&AI concepts, solutions, and viewpoints relevant to latent and emerging client innovation opportunities. Actively promote visibility of A&AI solutions, viewpoints, and general expertise in client innovation engagements.

+ Actively propose innovation projects, experiments and workshops to generate a pipeline of work.

+ Actively participate in activities including developing client workshops, interviewing stakeholders, data gathering, and ideation.

+ Contribute to thought leadership and points of view.

Requirements

+ Strong academic qualifications in Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Computational Linguistics or a related discipline.

+ Experienced in data gathering, manipulation, investigation and analysis. Big data experience a plus.

+ Python/R and associated data & ML libraries. Standard modeling experience (e.g. classification, clustering etc). Visualisation (e.g. plotly, ggplot, Tableau, D3). Cloud (e.g. AWS) & associated ML frameworks (e.g. Sagemaker) a bonus. Open-source platforms and AI APIs.

+ Experience in Data Science project delivery including aspects of one or more of the Data Science, Advanced Analytics, Machine Learning, NLP or Computer Vision fields. Proven ability to lead technical Analytics delivery from concept to solution.

+ Experience in the design, analysis, and interpretation of the results of statistical experiments and apply statistical and machine learning models to test critical business hypothesis.

+ Recommended 3+ years’ experience across relevant technical research and/or industry.

+ Demonstrable ability to work in a global collaborative & multi-disciplinary team environment

+ Adept at framing business problems and identifying value from Advanced Analytics

+ Experience of using design thinking to generate ideas & frame problems effectively

+ Expert communications skills, data-storytelling skills an advantage

+ Experience in Quick prototyping and Agile development

+ Experience in user stories and prioritization, defining and measuring success metrics and stakeholder product reviews.

+ Demonstratable business acumen and understanding. Experience managing relationships and influencing at the senior executive level.

+ Industry domain experience in the Industrial, High Tech, Financial Services, Health & Life Sciences or other industries relevant to Accenture clients.

+ Proven ability to collaborate across different disciplines and manage ambiguity in project definition, scoping and execution.

+ Developing and maintaining an understanding of ecosystem capabilities (external and internal) to recommend and leverage existing solutions/stacks to bring cutting edge technology and solutions to the client experience and prototype development

+ Proven experience mentoring team members in their technical and professional development.

+ Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
