Overview

Job Summary: Observes telemetry/cardiac monitors continuously, interprets cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias, documents and reports abnormal rhythms, life threatening rhythms and Spo2 changes to nursing staff.  Continuously monitors Cerner Patient Observer 'CPO,' recognizes patient movement and proactively alerts nurses and other caregivers in an effort to prevent adverse events including: patient falls, patient elopement, patient safety, suspicious behavior and visitor monitoring. Position is contingent on completion of 4 weeks of orientation and successfully passing a rhythm interpretation assessment.

 

Required Education: High School diploma or GED.

 

Required Experience: Previous experience in a health care environment working with patients.

 

Preferred Experience: Pervious experience in telemetry monitoring or a completion of a dysrhythmia course as well as patient care experience.
