The National Critical Systems \(NCS\) Directorate within the Mission Solutions Business Area of Lockheed Martin Space in King of Prussia, PA is seeking a Software/Systems Engineering Manager to lead a team of 5\-8 engineers and have direct cost, execution, and schedule oversight\. This leader will directly and indirectly support the execution of a new program that will build a state\-of\-the\-art Wide Area Network \(WAN\) using software defined network technologies to allow a variety of USG Space Ground systems to communicate using a reliable terrestrial mesh network\.

\- Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions\.

\- Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle\. Applies knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business/mission applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software\.

\- Communications, including internal Staff Meetings and dissemination of information, both down and up\.

\- Assesses employee performance and conducts performance reviews, recognition/award activities, career discussions and disciplinary actions if needed\.

\- Review, approval and audit of time charges, audit and approval of travel and expense reports, address personnel issues, generate IOIs, and report status to management\.

\- The functional leadership portion of this position is estimated to be 25% of chargeable hours, with the remaining 75% being utilized as direct support to the program in a technical/leadership role\.

**Basic Qualifications:**

\- Bachelor’s degree \(or equivalent experience\) in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, or other relevant discipline

\- Advanced knowledge and proven experience in software engineering

\- Minimum 5 years of experience in full lifecycle of Software Engineering for software intensive projects

\- Minimum 2 years direct tangible experience and understanding managing software and systems engineering efforts using Agile methods, processes, and practices

\- Proficiency with Earned Value Management \(EVM\), including specific Cost Account Management \(CAM\) responsibilities \(or strong ability/desire to learn\)

**Desired Skills:**

\- Broad understanding of the Software / Systems Engineering lifecycle and processes

Experiencing with costing software applications including use for proposals, BOE and ROMs

\- Experience Interviewing, Hiring and Building Teams

\- Recent Experience as Product Owner, Scrum Master, and/or Release Train Engineer

\- Familiarity with common Agile MBSE Engineering Tools, including Cameo, DOORS, and Jira

\- Ability and desire to professionally represent Lockheed Martin to a variety of external organizations, including teammates, sub\-contractors, mission partners, and customers\.
