Overview

AJM Packaging Corporation is a leading manufacturer of branded and private label paper products including plates, bowls, cups, and bags. We are looking for a talented and qualified sales professional to be our Regional Sales Representative in the Pacific Northwest region.  This individual will handle a multi-state territory including WA, OR, UT, CO, WY and must currently reside in this region.

Responsibilities
  • Travel throughout assigned territory and make calls on current customers/accounts in order to upkeep business relations and to maintain and/or expand sale orders.
  • Travel throughout assigned territory and solicit new customers/accounts and develop avenues for continued growth.
  • Compile lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from newspapers, business directories, industry ads, trade shows, Internet Web sites, and various other sources.
  • Provide samples, catalogs and displays of products and conduct presentations that emphasize saleable product features to current customers and potential customers.
  • Accurately quote prices and credit terms and prepare sales contracts for orders obtained.
  • Follow-up as required with new or existing accounts to secure and finalize orders and/or address any outstanding concerns.
  • Communicate and interact with the manufacturing plants and various departments (e.g. Purchasing, Accounting and Traffic & Distribution) to ensure orders are processed through to final delivery and receipted without error or delay. If needed, can assist with securing customer payment.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate reports of business transactions and expense accounts.
  • Remain current with marketplace trends for product area and be able to communicate that information with staff, customers or potential customers.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of related selling experience and be an aggressive, self-motivated closer with a proven track record of selling and account management success.

The story of AJM Packaging began in Detroit in 1918. Abram, Jack, and Morris’ family owned a neighborhood grocery store beneath their small apartment. The whole family pitched in to keep the store afloat, even the young boys who stocked the shelves, unloaded the trucks, and took out the garbage. The family remained in the food industry and remained committed to working together, driving trucks and distributing produce and beer. In 1957, Abram, Jack, and Morris founded AJM Packaging Corporation. Headquartered in a red brick building on Dix Avenue in Detroit, where we still manufacture goods today, they purchased their first bag and plate machines and began converting paper into paper products. In 1993, Abram’s son Robert (Bob) took over the family business as president. Bob continued to grow the business, expanding AJM’s geographic footprint and national presence. Today, AJM is still a family-owned and family-run business with over 3,000 employees. Over the last 60+ years, we have grown into a leading manufacturer of high quality branded and private label paper products, including paper plates, bowls, cups, and bags.
