Oversees the BWI Shipping operation, working closely with Operations manager, Shipping floor manager, and Director.
- Leads team SQDCM efforts, Participates in Sector TLCOP, Utilize best practices and ensures team has tools and knowledge to make ALL contract delivery dates.
- Ensure "Return to Vendor" process is within Global Supply Chain requirements, coordinate special projects, ensure compliant processing and packaging of NGC product or customer provided items.
- Manages proper storage of supplies, materials, and equipment involved in Shipping and logistics operations, Team compliance with Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT) rules and practices.
- Ensures documentation flow (including packaging instructions) are processed accurately, effectively, and efficiently
- Responsible for generating and implementing continuous improvement projects, Incorporating Lean Six Sigma practices into our daily work flow, working with Operations manager to carry out the goals of upper management and our customers
- Work to build a solid working relationship with our Programs, Contracts team, OPM community, Security, Environmental, Health, Safety, and Fire Prevention (EHSFP) team, and Mission Assurance to create an atmosphere of open communication and world class customer service

- Solicit and manage shipping forecasts and steady communication with Programs and their OPMs to ensure resources are available to handle projected throughput in shipping
- Coordinate with Shipping floor manager and Operations manager on schedules, goals, and customer required dates- Advise ASAP anything that may keep us from meeting requirements
- Adjust shipping processing schedules to re-prioritize workload to meet the daily demands
- Coordinates with packaging engineers for special containers and packing requirements
- Supervises employees and maintain the accuracy of CATS time charging on a daily basis
- Assists everyone who has shipping related questions for quick problem resolution
- Ability to lead and motivate Union personnel

The chosen candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong problem solving skills, ability to multi-task, and demonstrated leadership skills.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree and at least 9 years of relevant experience, including related experience in transportation, or supply chain
- Minimum of 3 years of managerial or people leadership experience

- Proficiency with SAP functions, MS Office applications

- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance or higher
- Ability to lead meetings and present in front of team, management, customers, and or vendors
- Ability to promote cross training within the team, working to increase efficiencies

Preferred Qualifications:
NGC :Enterprise Export Management System (EEMS), Domestic Transportation Management System (DTMS)
Minimum of 2 years of Experience with preparing, routing, and costing for domestic and international shipments via Air or surface
- Minimum of 2 year of actual shipping/logistics processing
- Understanding of shipping practices CONUS and OCONUS
  • Experience managing Foreign Trade Zones (FTZ) activities
  • Experience in handling USGOV shipments via DD250 or DD1149
  • Experience with Project cargo logistics/documentation
  • Familiarity with Wide Area Work Flow (WAWF)
