Our Platform Center of Excellence Electrical Design Team has immediate and upcoming needs for top-performing Electrical Design Lead Engineer who creates the hardware electronics that Aerospace runs on.

Help us create the world’s most advanced systems for essentially every subsystem you can imagine from commercial or military aviation, to space.

We are seeking someone who brings the right experience designing Printed Boards Assemblies (PBAs) for Electronic Solutions within Honeywell Aerospace. 

This position is in Mississauga, ON.

Key Responsibilities:

In this visible, design and developing technical role, you will be responsible for one or more of the following:

  • Leading module and box level design efforts to meet specified product performance for all aspects of Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) compliance, including EMI/EMC/EME/ESD, HIRF and lightning.  Design solutions for EMC, for Aerospace commercial and Military standards.
  • Perform preliminary /detailed circuit design of commercial, military products for EMC.
  • Plan and execute EMC/HIRF/Lightning project tasks, and perform EMC requirements definition and EMC analysis
  • Lead EMC product design, perform EMC reviews and support processes to project completion
  • Ensure project and product EMC compliance to requirements
  • Lead the creation and release of EMC Qualification Test Procedures (QTPs), EMC Qualification Test Reports (QTRs), EMC
  • Development Reports and EMC Qualification By Similarity Analysis and Reports (QSARs).  Interface with internal and external customers as needed to address comments and ensure final release of documents.
  • Lead EMC Development and EMC Qualification test programs
  • Present to leadership and internal/external customers
  • Communicate non-compliance incidents
  • Establish and follow methodologies, propose technical improvements and suggest enhancements to advance projects
  • Leading, developing, and motivating engineering teams responsible for the design and development of processing platform solutions that meet the evolving needs of our Aerospace market.
  • Collaborates with a global, multi-disciplinary team of systems, mechanical, radiation effects, reliability, component, and manufacturing engineers.
  • Leads technical teams that set the strategic direction for products, process and technology.
  • Supporting system integration activities such as qualification tests, coordinating build and test of engineering hardware for functionality and requirements verification.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple project/programs with limited and shared resources.

The Honeywell building is a controlled goods program environment. Candidates must be eligible for CGP clearance.


  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in EMC hardware electrical design in aerospace


  • Master’s or PhD degrees in an engineering discipline.
  • Experience preforming and leading electrical hardware PBA level requirements development, preliminary and detailed design, design verification, and qualification spanning a high mix of moderate complexity products and systems. 
  • Experience supporting designs to ensure we meet the industry standards of EMC of RTCA DO-160, Boeing D6, Airbus ABD, MIL-STD 461, by reviewing and translating high level EMI/EMC requirements to the system and circuit level, creating control plans design guidelines, and testing methodologies, and developing simulation models for the analysis of interference coupling mechanisms, shielding integrity, and circuit/cable interface isolation to mitigate and control conducted/radiated emissions and susceptibility threats.
  • Familiarity with Mentor CAD tools, LTspice.
  • Understands the lead designer’s responsibly of effective communication.
  • Clearly and concisely convey subtle or complex messages to a variety of audiences, both written and verbal.
  • Someone who can interface with, teach, and set requirements with various system and product design teams around our global company
  • Knowledgeable in project estimation, planning, and cost and schedule management.
