Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a GBSD Principal/Senior Principal Guidance Computer PWB/PCB Designer to work on our GBSD program in Roy, Utah.

The individual in this role will design analog and digital PWB/PCB used in the Guidance Computer (GC) flight unit. The Guidance Computer is a high reliability, radiation hardened flight controller for the GBSD Aerospace Vehicle (AVE). The GBSD Guidance Computer contains digital processing, digital I/O, and analog actuator/power I/O electronics functions.

The designer will work in a program team environment with other Designers, Electrical Engineers and Mechanical Engineers designing analog and digital printed circuit boards through release of fabrication drawing package. This position reports directly to the Guidance Computer Flight Unit Product Engineering Lead.

Position requires 25% travel to El Segundo, CA until Q3 2021. Otherwise, 10% travel.

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:
  • Principal Engineer: Bachelor's in Science degree in a STEM(Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline and 5 years of experience; or a Master's in Science degree in a STEM(Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline and 3 years of experience; or 0 years of experience with a PhD.
  • Senior Principal: Bachelor's in Science degree in a STEM(Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline and 9 years of experience; or a Master's in Science degree in a STEM(Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline and 7 years of experience; or 4 years of experience with a PhD.
  • Experience using Mentor Xpedition, MentorGraphics BoardStation, Cadence/Allegro PCB, Mentor pads, Altium Designer, or other PCB layout tool
  • Active Current Secret Clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience using Mentor Xpedition version 1.2
  • IPC certification CID (Certified Interconnect Designer-Basic) or CID+ (Advanced)
  • Lead roles- Agile experience or certification
  • Non-Lead roles-Agile Experience or certification
