Business Information Developer Sr or Consultant – Program Integrity Analytics – PS49543

*Level of hire will be determined by experience level.

Location: GA, VA, TX, CA, IN all other Anthem locations will be considered. This position will be remote.

The Business Information Developer Sr/Consultant is responsible for developing and executing more complex data mining analyses, which involves the design and execution of programs to extract data.

Business Information Developer Sr Responsibilities:

  • Develops and executes data mining analyses.
  • Uses program languages to extract data.
  • Programs and writes algorithms and reports. Establishes and maintains strong knowledge of data warehouse database design, data definitions, system capabilities, related programming languages, and data integrity issues.
  • Develops and supports algorithms for use in applications for business areas and may require design and implementation of database tables.
  • Conducts education/training on use of algorithms developed.

Business Information Developer Sr Requirements:

  • Requires a BS/BA degree; 2-3 years related analytical experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. PC, spreadsheet, and database skills, as well as experience in standard Business Information tools and programming/query languages is also required.  JAVAScript coding experience is highly preferable, as is the use of tools such as SOAP and GIT.  Knowledge of JSON and HIVE data structures is also essential.
  • MS Office and database skills, as well as advanced data, design and reporting using Excel is required.
  • Experience in WellPoint standard Business Information tools JavaScript (not the same as JAVA coding for building frameworks), Bitbucket, Splunk, HIVE, and Teradata SQL are required.
  • The majority of time will be spent programming. 
  • This job is focused on complex data mining analysis as compared to the Bus Info Developer job, and on developing complex strategic algorithms for an automated claims evaluation engine.

Business Information Developer Consultant Responsibilities:

  • Determines how decision support systems will provide the data required to make effective business decisions.
  • Performs modeling of information sources and flows.
  • May coordinate the activities of a project team and monitors project schedules for own projects.
  • Establishes and maintains excellent knowledge of data warehouse database design, data definitions, system capabilities, programming languages, and data integrity issues.
  • Develops and supports complex algorithms for use in applications for business areas and may require design and implementation of database tables.
  • Conducts education/training on use of algorithms developed.

 

Business Information Consultant Requirements:

  • Requires a BS/BA degree; 4-5 years related experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.  PC, spreadsheet, and database skills, as well as experience in standard Business Information tools and programming/query languages is also required.  JAVAScript coding experience is highly preferable, as is the use of tools such as SOAP and GIT.  Knowledge of JSON and HIVE data structures is also essential.
