Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Support Equipment Lead Manager (S03). This position will be located in Roy, Utah and will support the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program. Learn more about the GBSD program here.  Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force’s sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities and associated infrastructure.

 What you will get to do:

The selected candidate will manage a team responsible for the design, development, and delivery of a wide range of support equipment (SE) for all aspects of the GBSD weapon system.  The candidate will be responsible for the cost, scheduled, and technical execution for the scope of work aligned to their team.

Will review status of work products and budgets; will follow EVMS principles; prepares and manages schedules and prepares status reports on the health and status of assigned projects. Will identify risks and opportunities and coordinate with applicable project management and IPTs to address, mitigate and retire risks. The candidate will be responsible for directing and managing personnel in the identification, tracking, and delivery of all SE items assigned to their team to support required milestones of the program. 

Will ensure SE elements are addressed through interface with associated engineering teams and disciplines to understand and resolve issues associated with the need and application of SE.  Coordinates with internal & external IPTS/suppliers as required to develop and maintain a comprehensive set of SE required for the support of GBSD. 

The preferred candidate will have a strong background in leading technical teams, managing cost and schedule adhering to EVMS techniques, experience with Agile work management principles, and have skills and experience fostering high morale environments.  Additionally, the preferred candidate will have an experience with many phases of the identification, design, and development of SE for large systems, with a systems engineering background.

 This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelors of Science in a STEM discipline and 10 years of experience, Master’s degree and 8 years of experience, or 6 years of experience with a PhD.

6 years of experience with hardware development, including requirements generation, conceptual and detail design/analysis, manufacturing, and operation

3 years of engineering management or formal leadership experience to include providing performance evaluations to direct reports

2 years of experience with/knowledge of fundamental engineering principles that are applicable to hardware design

1 year of experience utilizing lifecycle data management tools (CPLM, Teamcenter, etc)

Current DoD Secret Clearance.

Must have the ability to obtain SAP/SAR access

Preferred Qualifications:

10 years of experience in support equipment hardware development, aerospace hardware design, and/or program management

Previous experience as a Cost Account Manager utilizing Earned Value Management

Demonstrated success leading teams and/or organizations in an agile environment

Experience in 3D and 2D CAD hardware design, including appropriate usage of GD&T

Program Management Professional Certification

Current or ability to gain Top Secret DoD Clearance
