Accountabilities: Organizes diversified programming with goals of reaching the community through education and outreach that will include topics about feminism, women's experiences, gender more generally, and how race, class, ethnicity, nationality, age, ability, and sexuality intersect with gender. Programming will include introducing new and to expand existing programs; lectures and workshops, Brown Bag Lunches, films, conferences, and awareness campaigns. Supervisor to student interns will include recruitment and scheduling, mentoring and creating programming opportunities for development, community and diversity. Management of the Center for Women's Studies to include the use of facilities for groups, displays and resources. Collaborate with Program Coordinators from other interdisciplinary programs, such as ALANA , ALST , the COVE , ENST , LGBTQ Initiatives, Haven, and the Wellness Institute, and to attend Dean of College (DoC) meetings when possible. May serve on committees through Dean of the College initiatives and student organizations. Encouraged to attend on- and off-campus trainings and conferences. Professional Experience/Qualifications: - Coursework in Women's/Gender studies is preferable. - Experience organizing feminist, gender, and/or sexuality related programming. - Must be able to handle confidential materials with sensitivity and discretion. - Must be able to follow policy and procedures accurately and consistently. - Must possess superior interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with a variety of departments, interdisciplinary programs, and campus groups. - Must be capable of working collegially with a diverse group of students, faculty, staff, and visitors on a daily basis. - Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are required. - Community-builder who is conversant in social justice issues through an intersectional lens. Preferred Qualifications: Is well versed in feminism, anti-racism, and intersectionality and the promotion of those values. Must be comfortable working in a diverse environment in which he/she/ze may interact with faculty and students with a variety of experiences, backgrounds, and beliefs. Education: A Bachelor’s degree is required. Other Information: This 11-month position is slated to start on August 1 and runs during the academic year. This position is for one-year with the possibility of renewing for an additional year.
