HJF is seeking a Biostatistician II to support the Graduate School of Nursing (GSN) located at the Uniformed Services University (USU) in Bethesda, MD. HJF provides scientific, technical and programmatic support services to the GSN. This position will be 20 hours per week during the standard business day.

The Daniel K. Inouye Graduate School of Nursing is growing in cutting-edge research which directly supports the readiness of America's warfighter through the conduct of military relevant research designed to provide operational support to military units around the world. Research areas specific to this position posting are related to the development of innovative technologies that provide an overwhelming competitive advantage for our nation's female warfighters. Specifically, this program of research targets the self-maintenance of urogenital health of female warfighters while serving in austere environments. The Senior Principal Investigator is committed to offering a dynamic research environment for a talented and dedicated applicant. Under general supervision, the part-time Biostatistician II will provide support for clinical and/or laboratory research. This involves performing statistical analysis on data collected from clinical trials and/or research studies.

Responsibilities:
  1. Prepares statistical reports for presentations and publications. (40%)
  2. Recommends and implements changes as needed. (20%)
  3. Assist in the design of biomedical research. (5%)
  4. Provides statistical support via statistical consultation and data analyses throughout the courses of studies. (15%)
  5. Provides relevant statistical and project status updates to research staff. (20%)
  6. May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance of and participation in required training for role.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Experience in the design of clinical trials; knowledge of medical science and research; ability to communicate effectively; ability to make effective presentations and publish; excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills. Experience using SAS programming language. Advanced knowledge and experience in data processing and manipulation; advanced knowledge and experience in using SAS statistical software to perform various data processing and analysis tasks; Experience in using large medical records data and using other statistical and database management software packages such as SPSS, R, ACCESS is a plus.

Minimum Education: Master's degree is required.

Minimum Experience/ Training Requirements: 3-5 years of relevant work experience required.

Background/Security: Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Tier I investigation/Public Trust and a Common Access Card (CAC).
