Director of Quality- Full-Time Exempt Monday-Friday

The Director of Quality is responsible for monitoring and evaluating the quality of care provided at St. Mark’s Hospital. Director of Quality engages with senior leadership and is responsible for the operations of the quality management department and other assigned departments.  The reporting structure is determined by the Chief Executive Officer of each facility with guidance from the Division Vice President of Quality (DVPQ). However, most QM directors will report to the Facility Chief Medical Officer (FCMO) with a dotted line to the DVPQ. This position works closely with the Medical Staff and Hospital Leaders.

The position focuses on the following areas:

Quality Improvement, Patient Safety. Regulatory and Medical Staff Office

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

License/Certification:

Current and active RN License or certification in a healthcare related professional field in the state the RN practices.

Certified Professional Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) on hire or within 6 months – required. Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) – preferred but not required. Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) on hire or within 3 years

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or health care related field required. Master’s degree preferred

Experience:

Minimum of 5 – 8 years progressive experience in healthcare quality management, including individuals and teams, including Joint Commission review and accreditation processes.

Special Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated competency in communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Knowledge and experience in quality infrastructure and the utilization of quality project implementation tools.
  • Knowledge and understanding of health care regulatory standards and agencies including but not limited to, TJC, CMS, NQF and the state health department.
  • Demonstrated competency of multiple databases to include but not limited to Quality Net and Microsoft products (Word, SharePoint, Excel, Access and PowerPoint) and regulatory reporting tools including Joint Commission, CDC/NHSN, and FDA.
  • Knowledge in the use, development and implementation of clinical guidelines, care management and outcome measure assessment.
  • Demonstrated leadership, strategic planning, and management skills to include staff supervision and project management and evaluation.
  • Demonstrated competency with basic statistics and report analytics.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks successfully is required
  • Must possess basic project management skills
  • Must be flexible and able to work as part of a team and to develop appropriate relationships that foster a positive work atmosphere.
  • Ability to deal with highly sensitive and confidential material and adhere to data security and confidentiality protocols and procedures.
