 POSITION OVERVIEW

The Global Procurement VP is responsible for Buying Operations (100% Indirect and Global Procurement Services Direct Purchasing) and the continuous identification, development and management of a diversified supply chain that supports the Honeywell vision of migrating spend from Developed Markets to High Growth Regions.  Reporting to Honeywell CPO, the role leads centralized buying team and is the supplier partner to the Honeywell Strategic Business Groups (SBG's) with responsibility for process definition, deployment, results and improvement, strategy development and implementation oversight of local purchasing practices in the regions and delivery to an annual operating plan for material deflation, indirect savings and working capital improvement.  This role also establishes and manages supplier relationships in each region with qualified suppliers and monitors vendor performance.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and mentor global Buying Operations organization (7 direct reports, ~400 total team)
  • Develop and drive Honeywell's procurement strategy as developed with the global Indirect and Direct Category Strategy Teams to deliver a "one Honeywell" procurement approach
  • Establish supply base strategy for each region including recommendations on new suppliers, management of existing suppliers and management of suppliers not meeting performance objectives. 
  • Together with Global Category Teams
    • effectively consolidate suppliers with identified strategic and preferred suppliers
    • Identify new/current suppliers in target HGR regions who have the capacity and capability to meet the cost, quality and service needs of the business
  • Review supplier base to maintain approved suppliers by commodity group or service type
  • Driving synergies and strategy around transition projects in the regions
  • Understand competitive trends in key geographic markets for alternate materials or services to ensure Honeywell has "right" competitive supply solutions
  • Manage and maintain supplier catalogs to ensure they are properly loaded in Supplier Portal software program and updated as required
  • Work within supplier portal to review supplier performance metrics and schedule meetings with buyers for continuous improvement projects
  • Work with poor performing suppliers to develop a corrective action plan and improve deficiencies
  • Establish professional and executive level relationships with suppliers and be aware of new industry standards
  • Train supplier(s) how to navigate and fully utilize the functionality of our supplier portal either in person, phone, or video chats
  • Escalate issues that could negatively impact customer delivery requirements
  • Monitor company’s small business performance and coordinate with buyers to ensure socio-economic goals are met
  • Participate in audits when supplier documentation requires review
  • Review daily performance metrics and resolve issues that could negatively impact performance or customer satisfaction due to supplier issues
  • Ensure policy compliance across the region

MUST HAVE

  • University degree required, preferably in engineering, supply chain or related business field
  • 10+ years of experience in Operations and/or Supply Management/Sourcing/Procurement
  • Leadership experience in Supply Management/Sourcing/Procurement including strong managerial and leadership skills to work across all functions and levels of an organization; ability to lead change; effectively build high performing teams and model high performance standards
