Position Summary
McKesson's Workforce Planning & Analytics (WP&A) team delivers better people and business outcomes through data that is business informed, business relevant, usable and actionable. As a member of the WP&A Team, the Workforce Analyst will deliver people analytics and insights to Business Leaders and HR to drive workforce decisions with a large focus on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives. Through close partnerships with the WP&A team and HR, the Workforce Analyst will gain a sound understanding of business objectives and use consulting skills to provide and interpret insights from workforce data.
The team needs an individual who is passionate about using data to drive business results, has a curious mind, and strong analytical, and consulting skills. The candidate is required to juggle multiple activities at a tactical level as well as identify opportunities that will lead to more value for McKesson's human capital assets. Key Responsibilities
  • Gain strong understanding of business goals and use analytical skills to make data-driven workforce strategy recommendations to support business objectives
  • Partner closely with the WP&A team, DEI, HR, and BU Leaders to provide strategic decision support through data and analytics
  • Rapidly perform exploratory data analysis, generate and test working hypotheses, and uncover trends and relationships
  • Communicate results of analysis to other analysts, HRBPs, and leaders throughout the organization. Help tell stories with data and make recommendations by interpreting the "so what" and "now what" from analysis
  • Consult with clients and seek to understand the root of the client's challenge for which data and analytics will be leveraged
  • Have a strong focus and participation on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives for which data and analytics will be leveraged
Minimum Qualifications
  • 4 year degree in Business, Finance, Math, HR, or related field or equivalent experience
  • 4+ years of experience in Finance, Business Intelligence, Strategic Planning, HR and/or business administration in an analytical role
Critical Skills
  • 4+ years experience in a complex organization
  • Diversity analytics experience preferred
  • Proficient in Tableau dashboard development
  • Expert in MS product suite preferred; Highly proficient with Excel
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - approaches problems with rigorous logic and a curious mind - looks beyond the obvious and searches for deeper answers
  • Strong business and customer orientation - takes a consultative approach building trust and credibility along the way
  • Excellent interpersonal, relationship building, and collaboration skills - can influence others without using formal authority; shows respect for differing perspectives and contributions
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences - tells stories with data that resonate with stakeholders and maximize impact
  • Creative and strategic thinker - ability to assess needs, collaborate, and deliver data-driven recommendations
  • Highly-organized with strong attention to detail and results orientation

Additional Knowledge & Skills
  • Experience with diversity, equity, and inclusion metrics and analysis a plus
  • Experience with Visier a plus
  • Extensive experience with data analysis
  • Statistics analysis experience preferred
  • Ability to take initiative
  • Have a high learning orientation; active exploratory mind and seeking to learn from others
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects while meeting deadlines and documenting progress towards those deadlines
  • Able to effectively gather project requirements from stakeholder

  • 4 year degree in Business, Finance, Math, HR, or related field or equivalent experience
