Responsibilities

The Director, Development (Acquisitions) plays a lead role in the development and execution of acquisition strategy and in the prospecting/lead generation, deal negotiation/structuring, financial analysis, deal execution and market research and analysis. The Director reports to the SVP, Development.

Essential Job Responsibilities:
• Works with others to develop a strategy to guide the Company’s acquisition focus areas
• Identifies and screens acquisition candidates for fit with the Company’s acquisition strategy and financial targets
• Does market research and analysis to identify acquisition opportunities
• Networks with investment banks, business brokers and the company's operations to identify suitable acquisition opportunities
• Obtains and analyzes business and financial information from target companies
• Develops financial pro formas and models related to acquisition opportunities and works with operations to determine fits with existing operations including potential business synergies
• Structures and negotiates transaction terms in consultation with the Senior Vice President, Development
• Prepares non-disclosure agreements and letters of intent
• Coordinates the preparation of transaction documentation with outside counsel
• Leads the due diligence process for potential acquisitions

Qualifications

Education, Experience and Certification
• Bachelor’s degree required, MBA or other business-related advanced degree desirable
• Five to seven years’ experience in acquisition-related business/activities
• Experience developing financial models, pro formas and projections
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Experience in negotiating, structuring and executing acquisitions
• Knowledge of Company’s core businesses
• Strong analytical and problem resolution skills with high attention to detail and organization
• Excellent communication (oral and written) skills
• Extensive knowledge of current industry trends, standards, and practices
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally (verbal and written) with all levels of personnel internal and external to the company
