The Nursing Manager will be responsible for the clinical and financial outcomes of designated clinical unit/units.  Acts as a representative of the Director of Inpatient Clinical Services and Administration.   Collaborates with Director of Inpatient Clinical Services and Nursing Unit Supervisor in ensuring competent, cost effective patient care.

  • You will manage the unit/unit’s operations.
  • You will manage the unit/units personnel activities.
  • You will coordinate inter and intra departmental activities of the unit/units.
  • You will develop a professional climate within the nursing unit/units
  • You will adhere to dress code, conduct and attendance policies
  • You will accept both positive and negative constructive feedback.  
  • You will attend at least 80% of in-services and departmental meetings.     
  • You will develop specific work plans and due dates.            
  • You will follow through on planned assignments within assigned timeframes.        
  • You will maintain positive relationships with internal and external customers. Is effective in interacting with and problem solving.

Experience

  • 3+ years of previous Charge Nurse experience, Care Coordinator or Supervisor- required 

Education

  • Graduate of accredited nursing school 
  • Associate’s Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma- required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing- preferred

Licenses and Certifications

  • Registered Nurse with Texas state licensure or licensure from a state within the Nursing Compact.  If working under compact license, must have current state license within 90 days.
  • BLS certification as per St. David’s Healthcare policy
  • ACLS certification as per St. David’s Healthcare policy
  • NRP certification as per St. David’s Healthcare policy
  • Certification in area of specialty - preferred
