Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor team in the design, build, and test of software for the biopharmaceutical market.
  • Communicate with multi-functional teams to identify requirement gaps to define and prototype new products to meet customer requirements.
  • Operate as an individual contributor that writes code, debugs issues, and designs solutions, and also operate as a technical leader that monitors progress, identifies risks/issues, and works with Project/Product Management to deliver high quality products on schedule.
  • Evaluate new technologies and provide a technical point of view for feasibility.
  • Effectively communicate (verbal and written) new insight and ideas with cross-functional team.
  • Investigate new technologies, and work with marketing to identify gaps based on customer input and turn them into proposals for new technologies that solve customer challenges better than any competitors.
  • Ability to work with other engineering groups, product management and scientists to define and prototype solutions.
  • Ability to apply the Danaher Business Systems tools and processes to product development.

Qualifications:

  • University degree (Bachelor of Science degree minimum) in engineering, life science, biology, microbiology or related subject with hands-on knowledge of software, instrumentation and/or cell line development, cell biology and cell analysis techniques and applications.
  • 5+ years experience in product development for life science research market, customer workflow and technology knowledge in the development of scientific and life sciences instruments.
  • 3+ years’ experience leading a team of local engineers, developing resource plans and timelines.
  • Hands-on software engineering using C# and C++ languages on Windows Operating System experience desirable.
  •  Proven ability to research and develop new, innovative products and features.
  • Understand complex instrumentation and system designs involving optical, electrical, mechanical, and firmware sub-systems with the ability to analyze and document the system.
  • Ability to author and present complex data to engineering, marketing, scientific and management stakeholders.
  • Experience leading a development team in the full product development life cycle of software in the life sciences market.
