Department Name/Job Location: This position is in the Department of Psychological & Brain Sciences in Somers Family Hall on the Danforth Campus. Essential Functions: POSITION SUMMARY: This position is for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to work on research on prejudice and stereotyping, discrimination, social cognition, and intergroup relations. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Analyzing Data: Compile, clean, and analyze data. May also code data from written text or video. Study Materials Development: Conduct literature review, design studies, and create study materials. Writing: Write manuscripts and prepare grant proposals. Presentation of Research: Meet with the PI and the lab regularly to discuss research progress and address any issues that arise. Administration: Supervise research assistants, and submit applications and modifications to the university IRB, etc. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications: Ph.D. degree in social psychology or a related field. Expertise with building lab and web-based psychology studies, and coding in HTML or other platforms. Demonstrated ability to complete projects, as evidenced by quantity and quality of publications. Evidence of ability to collaborate with colleagues beyond the Ph.D.-granting University. Salary Range: Base pay commensurate with experience. Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of, or ability to acquire understanding of, theories of implicit social cognition, models of changing affect, cognition and realistic social behavior. Skilled at research design, participant recruitment, data management, statistical analysis, and scientific writing, and an interest in mentoring junior lab members in these areas.
