**Job Summary**

This job is responsible for ongoing operation and support of batch processing using BMC Control-M. This job will require the ability to insert, run, and restart jobs, as well as make permanent scheduling changes to our batch environment. A strong background in mainframe is preferred, specifically with JCL and utilities such as SDSF, as well as a good understanding of open systems filesystems. You must be able to work and communicate well with others in order to deliver on customer needs.

**Essential Responsibilities**

+ Execute best practices to ensure high availability for the application environments.

+ Responsible for making permanent and temporary scheduling changes.

+ Hold, insert, run, and restart mainframe and open systems jobs.

+ Participate in Disaster Recover drills and provide documentation for auditing purposes.

+ Perform recovery procedures, scheduling and backups, and monitor batch processes.

+ Perform operational support of IT Infrastructure technology

+ Assure compliance to required standards, procedures, guidelines, and processes.

**EDUCATION**

**Required**

+ High School Diploma or equivalent required

**EXPERIENCE**

**Required**

+ 1-3 years of experience in Information Technology

+ Proficient in administration of scheduling applications and monitoring of daily batch operations.

+ Thorough understanding of distributed platforms (Windows and Linux servers).

+ Strong knowledge of JCL and experience with mainframe job restarts.

+ Familiarity with IT Service Management too, preferably Cherwell.

**Preferred**

+ Experience with Control-M administration, installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.

+ Deep technical knowledge of the Control-M platform as a whole – Enterprise Manager, Configuration Manager, Agents, GUI, etc…

+ Extensive knowledge using Archive Manager and Self Service.

+ Understanding of dataset triggering using Control-O and restarts using Control-R
