*Your field of responsibility* Currently Hosting and Data Services (‘HDS’) is seeking to recruit a senior Infrastructure Leader to join the Raleigh team at a Director level and perform a global service leadership role within the database service. This exciting role will give the successful individual the ability to own and deliver the Bank’s strategy in the critical area of public cloud Database services, with a team of highly skilled SMEs in operations, development and engineering functions. It will also include regional management activities including building the Credit Suisse brand in Raleigh, university graduate hiring, philanthropy, and local management decisions. The successful candidate will join the management committees and steering bodies for the infrastructure services and hence influence very widely, including Application Development processes and help Credit Suisse IT become more agile and efficient. The core tasks of this role include: * Leadership of the mission critical global public cloud database infrastructure service, delivered by a team of highly technical SMEs. This includes owning the DBaaS public cloud adoption strategy, service catalogue definition and identification of products and services to consume in the public cloud to meet customer requirements, financial management and pricing, service security and definition of all necessary guard-rails to keep Credit Suisse DBaaS services in the public cloud secure, and well managed. * Creating a strategic vision for the service, drawing on internal SMEs, vendor input, market trends, etc, and selling this internally to business partners. Owning the engineering team and the book of work to build and deliver the vision in an agile manner. * Mentoring & encouragement of staff, performance management, career development, building local seniority. * Ensuring the team correctly manages significant operational issues that occur within the service, taking personal ownership of the most severe issues. Ensuring lessons are learned from incidents and applied globally. * Implement continuous improvement processes and an SRE mind-set, drawing input from the service’s own operational experience, customer feedback and market trends. * Management of vulnerabilities, risks and audit points with the service, with high quality reporting, ensuring prompt patching and remediation. * Assist in regional leadership, joining the broader leadership committee, building the CS brand in region, helping improve staff retention, creating a diverse management structure to get the very best from the overall CTO team in Raleigh. *Your future colleagues* Hosting and Data Services (‘HDS’) provides core infrastructure services to Credit Suisse globally, covering the areas of Compute (physical and virtual), Database, Storage, Mainframe, Middleware / Web, Market Data and Data Analytics. These services are provided via Credit Suisse’s own facilities, and increasingly via public cloud. HDS runs services with a global workforce, with main hub locations in the Poland (Warsaw, Wroclaw), US (New York, Raleigh / North Carolina), Switzerland, UK, Singapore and India, as well as smaller locations. Services are provided to all the banks business areas via a highly standardized ‘service catalogue’ which defined service levels, cost and functional capability.
