Senior Manager – Industry 4.0 and Advanced Manufacturing
Location: multiple Eaton locations possible across EMEA - This role can be based at any Eaton facility
Develop and implement strategy for the incorporation of Industry 4.0 and advanced manufacturing technologies within the Electrical Sector EMEA business. The primary focus is the adoption of industry 4.0 concepts of interconnectivity, flexible automation, machine learning, and real-time data to create a more data driven ecosystem that can rapidly respond to challenges throughout the entire value stream. The scope encompasses IIoT, smart manufacturing, connected systems, big data and marriage of physical production and operations with smart digital technology. Responsibilities include successful management of scope, cost/resources, schedule, subcontract management, performance management and change management of various assigned projects.
+ Provide Subject Matter Expertise and overall Program Leadership of Industry 4.0 and Advanced Manufacturing for Electrical Sector EMEA.
+ Work with senior leaders and site leadership to develop strategies, goals, objectives, resource, CAPEX, planning and communication/change management for the transformation of ES EMEA into an Industry 4.0 organization with connected systems and smart factories throughout.
+ Support Deployment Teams with:
+ Developing detailed deployment plans and schedules by site.
+ Tracking and reporting progress on Industry 4.0 projects to all stakeholders.
+ Celebrating key milestone achievements
+ Measure success through the development and deployment of the industry 4.0 score card to track key performance metrics.
+ Lead prioritisation of application of industry 4.0 technologies across EMEA via deployment of cross divisional councils.
+ Ensure standardisation of technology solutions throughout.
+ Establish standard work for business case development and implementation of advanced technologies
+ Lead organizational development, growing competencies to enable ES EMEA to deploy technologies independently and becoming self-sufficient of outside vendors/integrators.
+ Develop and continuously improve understanding of the advantages of industry 4.0 concepts and technologies and their applicability to various manufacturing and non-manufacturing use cases.
Education level required
+ Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution
Years and area of experience required:
+ Minimum of 10 years of experience in industrial operations environments
+ Minimum of 5 years of experience in Industry 4.0, IOT or Smart Factory development
+ Plant management experience (preferred)
+ Experience in international operations development (preferred)
+ Experience in strategic and annual planning (preferred)
+ Comprehensive knowledge of Industry 4.0/Smart factories. This includes IoT, Data Acquisition, Machine Learning, Digitalization, Big Data Analytics, Additive Manufacturing and Automation among others.
+ Highly effective Program/Project Management skillsets
+ Experience with 1 or more of Lean, Six Sigma, Quality Management Systems and/or EHS implementations
+ Operations management experience is low mix high volume, high mix low volume and engineered to order environments
+ Working knowledge of business management systems (MRP, order management)
+ Financial acumen and experience with business case development
+ Has led major initiatives across multiple sites and organizational boundaries
+ Understanding of IT infrastructure & system integration
+ Must have the ability to lead others in a matrix environment communicating expectations and requirements internally and externally.
+ Effective communicator within environments ranging from shop floor kaizen teams, to operations leadership stakeholder groups, to business group staff, and Eaton senior leadership
