TheBanking SoftwareInstallation Specialistrole focuses on activities such as evaluating, designing, constructing, integrating, unit testing, trouble-shooting andinstallingsoftware solutions in a variety of customer-facing and internal business scenarios, associated with NCR's financial software for monitoring ATMs andInteractiveTellerMachines. In this exciting role, you will be at the forefront of our industry leading Self-Service Solutions for the banks. Upon achieving a fundamental knowledge of NCR's software solutions, candidates will specialize into areas focusing onsoftware application installation, security, manageability,upgrades,andperformance/optimization onmulti-vendor platforms.

Candidates must work to anticipate internal and external client needs and have an overriding commitment to client satisfaction. As well, incumbents must be able to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity, and rapid change.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Work with a variety of third-party applications, hardware and operating systems, and scripting tools to effectivelyinstall andintegrate the NCR self-servicedevice monitoringapplications.
  • Installation of Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle applications and configure within the customer environment. This includes the ability to implement data replication and high-availability solutions provided within these applications.
  • Installation of Web Servers, including the deployment of Web Services and Applications as required by the NCR Vision solution
  • Installation of Windows Server operating systems and configuration within a customer environment. This includes the ability to implement systems in high-availability and clustered environments.
  • Effective communication with customers to establish documented system requirements, and then execute and implement the system to meet or exceed the documented and agreed upon requirements for the system.
  • Providefeedback to NCR's Development team on new features and functions or new methods of executing existing features and functions in effort to improve the overall effectiveness and performance of our systems. This includes documenting detailedrequirements and participating in design related activities to ensure new development activities meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Plan, direct, and execute (often in coordination with other team members) all project related activities within the customer's organization.
  • Define the technical scope of the project, development project plans (WBS), track task assignments and re-requisite tasks, complete regular status reports to communicate progress to the wider audience, define contingency plans, and ensure the overall success of the project.

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in atechnicaldiscipline or equivalent work experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, management, and internal NCR personnel, and at varying levels within an organization
  • Efficient troubleshooting of system setups to quickly identify root cause, determine best possible solution, and ultimately resolveinstallation/configurationrelated issues.
  • Excellent systems integration skills, including multiple platform/vendor application integrations; understanding of networking communications, and excellent systems troubleshooting skills. This includes activities ranging from operating system installation and setup, applications installation and setup, basic script writing and execution, and integrations with multiple third party components
  • Ability to install, configure, and integrate Web Host Servers and Web Applications, including high-availability configuration options.
  • Able to anticipate internal and external client needs and have an overriding commitment to client satisfaction
  • Experience in the installation, configuration, and integration of systems containing many of the following non-NCR applications, operating systems, and related services: .NET, Apache Tomcatand/or IBMWebsphere, Microsoft IIS, Windows Servers, including clustering and high-availability system configurations.
  • LDAP
  • Microsoft SQL Server, including Structured Query Language (SQL) and data replication configurations.
  • Ability to understand and write customized scripts (SQL, XML, bat, Microsoft Excelmacros, etc.) to streamline repetitive tasks including the monthly reporting of system performance statistics, installation tasks, etc.
  • This position requires periods of travel and on average 30-40% over the course of a year.

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience working in the branch banking, ATM or kiosk self-service industry
  • Experience with Groovy Scripting
  • Working knowledge of NCR'sself-service device management softwareor similar device management solutions
  • Familiarity with ATM application software (example: EDGE and Active Enterprise).
  • Basic understanding and knowledge of device management business operations.
  • Understanding of clusters and high-availabilitydatabaseconfigurations, and the ability to quickly troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Experience withJasperSoftreporting
