We are looking for a passionate backend engineer to help support our growing business! In this position, you will be a valued member of a technical team charged with implementing interactive features and user-friendly designs for the industry’s rapid migration to Digital Pathology.  Use your intellect and experience to build applications supporting the entire workflow, from image acquisition all the way through image management, image review, and analysis.

Major Responsibilities

This position requires an innovative engineer who will work closely with key partners to build exciting and reliable experiences using web, thick-client applications or micro­services.  Champion projects through all stages of the software lifecycle – inception, requirements, design, implementation, documentation, and verification. In this role, you will serve as a technology expert responsible for driving the backend technology of our products forward. You will provide technical guidance and hands on experience to the engineering team. Key responsibilities include: 

  • Collaborating with Product Management and other Software Engineers to develop Digital Pathology data workflow, management and viewing applications.
  • Taking ownership of the backend tech stack, creating solutions for advancing our architecture, unit testing, and continuous integration and deployment.
  • Learning and applying DBS (Danaher Business Systems) tools and processes for product quality, on time delivery and problem solving, ultimately driving to improve customer satisfaction
  • Writing unit tests and driving verification and validation activities per a tightly controlled quality system.
  • Contributing to Design Documentation and defend design decisions in critical design reviews.
  • Lead development projects and mentor software engineers on your team
  • Providing third-tier support for customer installations.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science, related technical field or equivalent practical experience
  • 4+ years software development experience with using .NET technologies
  • 2+ years of MS SQL Server development
  • 2+ years of experience creating automated unit tests using MS Test and MOQ (or equivalent)
  • Experience in building microservices
  • Experience in software development with messaging queue/bus/broker systems (RabbitMQ)
  • Experience designing secure services to accommodate industry standards in data protection and privacy
  • Experience with DevOps, Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment and automation

Desired Skills/Experience

  • Experience with Agile processes and SCRUM
  • Capable problem solver and communicator who can present reasoned arguments for innovative solutions to complex problems
  • Familiarity with medical imaging applications, such as in Pathology or Radiology or clinical workflows involving medical imaging
  • Attuned to the fundamentals of user experience
