Brief Description: A Developer must have experience in analyzing customer needs and developing overall concept and design objectives. The developer must be able to create software in a variety of programming and for a variety of IT software applications. Must have experience in debugging and correcting errors in computer programs.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop an understanding of the program, infrastructure, architecture, and business model to use in software development
  • Create and maintain database schemas to support business processes
  • Write clean, well designed code as part as an Agile Development Team
  • Troubleshoot, test and maintain the core product software and databases to ensure strong optimization and functionality
  • Contribute in all phases of the development lifecycle
  • Follow industry best practices
  • Develop and deploy new features, procedures, and tools
  • Be an active participant on an Agile Software team
Qualifications
  • Past experience on Department of Veterans Affairs projects is a Plus
  • Past experience on Federal Government Development Programs is required
  • Experience with modern Department of Veterans Affairs tools such as Slack, Zenhub, Jira, Confluence, Salesforce, Pega, Fortify, Copado, Jenkins, Prometheus, PagerDuty and GitHub is a plus
  • Experience reviewing and integrating technical and application architecture requirements
  • Experience with test driven development, JMeter, unit, functional testing
  • Knowledge of technical and business concepts applied to complex programming assignments
  • Proven experience with cloud-based Services
  • Experience with multi-threading (concurrency)
  • Experience with Data transformation across systems
  • SAFe Certification is a plus
  • Experience in:
    • Fortify, SCA tools and DAST
    • JBPM
    • .NET, ASP, SharePoint, Tuxedo, and C++ is a plus
    • Spring framework concepts, Spring boot
    • REST, SOAP web services
    • JMS, Schedulers, workflow engines
    • hibernate, Oracle and Postgres databases
    • Authentication mechanisms (SAML, OAuth)
    • Docker, orchestration using Kubernetes
    • AWS Cloud, Apache Kafka
    • Logging aggregators like (EFK or ELK)
    • Splunk, SonarQube, JMeter.
