The mission of Hidden Valley 4-H Camp is to provide youth with a fun, residential camp experience under the guidance of positive role models that emphasize community building, positive social interactions, environmental awareness and skill building. The Maintenance Manager at Hidden Valley 4-H Camp is to serve as our overall general caretaker and to ensure the facilities are clean and fully functional. The Maintenance Manager will need to be available two hours each day camp is in operation; Sunday through Friday. The Maintenance Manager will ensure that the camp facilities are in general order before camp opens on Sunday for camper drop off. Some physical requirements of this position could be endurance including prolonged standing, bending, stooping, walking long distances, running, hiking, climbing, and stretching; requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity to manipulate outdoor equipment and camp activities; requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate camper activities/programs and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.; willing to live in a camp setting and work irregular hours with limited or simple equipment and facilities; and with daily exposure to the sun, heat, cold, rain, sun, and other varying weather conditions, and animals such as bugs, snakes, bats, etc. Duration The summer camp season begins with staff training on June 26 and includes 6 weeks of residential camp that run from Sunday morning to Friday afternoon. Specific dates camp is in session are July 4 through August 13. Additional assistance will also be needed with the closing of camp August 14 through August 15, 2021. Essential Functions Supervise and assist the Summer Youth Employment staff and Counselor staff in the general cleaning of the north and south palaces. Make minor repairs when needed and in consultation with State Park staff, Camp Manager and CCE office when questions arise. Notify State Park staff of any necessary repairs to equipment or facility. Work closely with State Park staff in resolving maitenance issues. If any camp hazards are identified alert the Camp Manager immediately. Assistance with pool maitenance as requested by Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or Aquatics Manager Assist in staff training on general maitenance where appropriate. Serve as a positive role model in language, appearance, and behavior. Support and embrace diversity in all interactions with campers, other staff members, volunteers and parents. Implement programs that engage diverse backgrounds, interests and learning styles. Other duties may be assigned as needed. Required and Preferred Qualifications 21 years of age or older Possess training, certifications and experience in general maintenance practices Training on the proper handling and disposal of cleaning chemicals Experience working with basic tools Ability to provide instructions and supervision to camp staff Salary and Benefit Details Salary commensurate with experience.
