Eaton Corporation is currently seeking a Contracts Manager to join our team. This position is based in Moon Township, PA or Raleigh, NC.

In this role, you will proactively identify unique business scenarios and opportunities for risk mitigation found throughout all aspects of the contract lifecycle, formulate executive-level recommendations and partner with the business across a diverse array of cross-functional teams. You will drive the drafting, review, analysis, negotiation, and execution strategy of all contracts including complex and/or higher risk contracts for Eaton’s sales and supply chain teams. In addition to contract management, you will make key contributions to the strategic vision of the organization by leveraging your skills to impact business decisions; collaborate with other law team functions; and deploy solutions relating to all phases of contract management.

You will develop yourself and others by proactively identifying unique business scenarios found throughout all aspects of the contract lifecycle, thinking big and differently, formulating executive-level recommendations and implementing process improvements to drive speed and simplicity by gaining credibility, influencing and partnering across a diverse array of cross-functional teams.

In this role you will:

+ Review, analyze and interprete contractual terms found across a variety of routes to market for transactions ranging from the purchase or sale of goods to complex, multi-million dollar design, build projects in strategic global market segments.

+ Craft innovative approaches for handling complex language in a wide range of transactions by balancing the opportunities and risks created for various functional teams who look to you for solid analysis, sound judgment and creative and practical contractual guidance all while adhering to Eaton’s limits of authority approval policies.

+ Manage a wide range of contract negotiations of varying complexity simultaneously while engaging other key functions to coordinate and align on strategy and approach such as Program Management, Engineering, Operations, Finance, Credit, Sales, Trade Compliance and other Specialty Practice Groups (SPGs) within the Law Team.

+ Leverage communication skills, ability to manage expectations, and organizational capability to deliver creative solutions to both our internal and external customers on legal and/or commercial issues encountered in the review, negotiation, or performance of a contract.

+ Lead and coordinate compliance with records retention policies, contract approval policies, as well as maintenance and documentation of all contracts, requests and related documents in Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) and other selected tools.

+ Structure, draft and partner on contract negotiations both independently and in collaboration with other contracts professionals or leaders within sales or operations where the ability to persuade is a key success factor.

+ Play a key role in the selection of new technologies to enhance the organization’s ability to collect meaningful contract data, and contributes to the refinement and improvement of existing processes and procedures.

+ Identify, lead and participates in contracts training, including preparation and presentation of training materials to various departments and functions.

+ Identify and implement opportunities to develop efficient, comprehensive, long-term approaches to contracting processes which influence all aspects of the business.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

+ Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.

+ Minimum 2 years of contract or negotiation experience

+ Must be legally eligible to work in the United States on an on-going basis without Company sponsorship

+ No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. All candidates must reside within a 50 mile radius of Moon Township, PA or Raleigh, NC.

Preferred Qualifications

+ Masters Degree or Juris Doctor (J.D.)

Position Criteria

+ Contracts certifications (CPCM, CFCM or CCCM)

+ Able to demonstrate strong drive for results in order to address heavy volume of projects along with ability to multi-task.

+ Demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills needed in order to successfully negotiate from difficult selling position on key areas of concern (i.e., direct, consequential and liquidated damages).

+ Able to handle stressful situations with professionalism and calm demeanor.

+ Able to interface with counterparts in other regions to negotiate global contracts in light of increasing global customer requirements.

+ Confidence communicating with all levels of internal and external organizations; including delivering difficult messages and challenging current assumptions

+ Demonstrated interest and passion in ways to make activities more efficient and innovative from initiation of contract matters (RFQ) through close-out.

+ Work effectively with other groups and departments on all matters of project activities that may require Contract Department contributions.

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong awareness of what type of communication is appropriate for what audience

+ Comfortable operating in both structured and unstructured environments.

+ Ability to encourage and build positive relationships and communicate (both verbal and written) effectively with all co-workers and outside customers.

+ Proficiency in MS Office software programs
