Chapter Next is a 12\-16 week paid returnship hosted by RMS\. Candidates who have taken a professional career hiatus for at least 2\+ years will be eligible to apply to this program\.

During this returnship participants will become part of a community of similarly experienced professionals with challenging work scopes that contribute to the great innovation produced by Lockheed Martin\. Selected candidates will be exposed to comprehensive training, professional development opportunities, networking opportunities, and individual based mentoring

Our goal is to provide the fundamental tools needed to be successful in your career field, and to potentially prepare you for an opportunity to join Lockheed Martin full\-time\. Fields of focus will be diverse across the program and include functional and technical opportunities\.

The Training and Logistics DevOps Engineering Team is working on many exciting programs and developing groundbreaking products and applications to meet the complex and evolving needs of our customers\. We are looking for hardworking software and systems engineers to join our team, working with other engineering disciplines to develop many outstanding products and solutions\.

This returnship position is for a DevOps – System Engineer and will be located in Orlando, Florida\. As a DevOps – System Engineer the individual will support a diverse group of employees to deliver one of the most advanced training systems supporting both domestic and international customers\.

Reporting to the DevOps Engineering Manager the selected individual will contribute to the Training & Logistics Market in the following ways:

• Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems Insert role detail and responsibilities

• Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal

• Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints

• Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications\.

**Basic Qualifications:**

Minimum Basic Skills or experience for this position:

• STEM Bachelor’s Degree \(Preferably: Computer Science or Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering\) with minimum 5 years of prior professional experience; or 3 year of professional experience with a related Masters degree\.

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance

• Desire to work in a software intensive line of business

• Adaptability in supporting changing program needs

• Productively balance autonomy and task commitments

• Continuous learning mindset

• Successful communication of ideas and task status

• Engage in constructive conflict, manage interpersonal dynamics

• Successful working in a remote environment

• Experience with System Requirement Development and/or Decomposition

• Strong Business Acumen including effective oral, written and presentation skills

• Strong analytical skills and report development, metric and trend analysis

• Demonstrated leadership abilities

• Microsoft Office \(PowerPoint, Excel\) experience

• Organized and detail oriented, able to handle multiple tasks concurrently
